Okay, this is for all you smart@sses acting like I need a definition of the word theory. The thing is, it seems like it is okay for a museum to be built that teaches the THEORY of evolution, but it's not okay for a museum to built that teaches Creation. While it may not be scientific it is still a THEORY just as much as evolution and if you consider what a theory is, then it's just as credible.

even with "flaws" it makes a hell of a lot more sense than that other theory.

edit: In scientific usage, a theory does not mean an unsubstantiated guess or hunch, as it can in everyday speech. A theory is a logically self-consistent model or framework for describing the behavior of a related set of natural or social phenomena. It originates from or is supported by experimental evidence (see scientific method). In this sense, a theory is a systematic and formalized expression of all previous observations that is predictive, logical and testable.

Creationism is none of those things. It's just a theory, whereas Evolution is a scientific theory.

No one says that it explains everything perfectly or that there haven't been mistakes in the past. But the fact that evolution happens is undeniable.

I don't know how many times we can say this: IT IS NOT A SCIENTIFIC THEORY. There is a huge difference between the common form of theory and the scientific one, look it up. Not all theories are created equal nor are all theories unproven.

The difference is the shear amount of evidence that shows that evolution is true. All the evidence that the creationists use are incorrect or they attribute things not held to scientific standards.

If you want to teach it privately in your home I have no right to stop you but do not for a second put the drival into a school. I am not saying that the creation museum should never have been allowed to be built, just that what they preach is wrong, wrong, wrong.

To you really understand what a "scientific theory" is. It is a great deal more than just an idea about something.

It is a very well tested hypothesis. To date there has not been one credible challenge to the theory of evolution. Most of science actually works harder to try to discredit theory that to confirm it.

Creation is a failed hypothesis. Dead in the water. Will never even be a theory, let alone a "scientific theory

There is no such thing as a flawless theory. But there are well supported theories, which is really redundant since a hypothesis doesn't achieve the status of theory until it is well supported by evidence. The two best supported theories in science are evolutionary theory and atomic theory. Hey, I wonder why these people are not trying to eliminate the mention of atoms from science classrooms? After all, the existence of atoms is "only a theory".

A theory is by definition not flawless. On the contrary, a theory is constantly tested and developed. So far noone has proved the basic principles of evolution wrong, but one constantly find examples of implementation that turns out to be too simple, and therefore brings new and deeper understanding.

But you are not interested in that. Your way of asking is not the scientific approach with an aim to aquire knowledge that can challenge you. You are more into have support to a label to put on people with opinios you don't like. Am I right?

No evolutionist will tell you it's flawless. OK, maybe Richard Dawkins.
It's just that there is so much evidence to show that the theory is sound. A few unexplained problems are no big deal, just a matter of time. It explains so much and makes predictions that can be tested (and so far found true.)
Creation on the other hand, has NO evidence to support it. The predictions made by the bible have proved to be false.

Why do people believe in creationism?

Why do people act like no one knows evolution has flaws?

Why do people act like disproving evolution proves god?

Addon to your addon:

Apparently you DO need a definition of theory. Creationism has repeatedly been shown to not even stand up to cursory scientific questions. Scientific theory is something that has been through testing and has passed.

no theory is flawless just by definition. if it was flawless it would be a fact and not theory. but to answer your question they likely feel more justified in that position because it can be supported by some facts. creationism cannot be supported by facts only faith. to me that difference makes evolution a more valid theory, though still just a theory nonetheless.

Which people are those? I'm an atheist and a supporter of the ToE, but it is not "flawless".
Our theory of gravity is not flawless either, but Christians never seem to get upset over that.

You clearly fail to grasp what theory means. Creationism is not a theory. it isn't even a hypothesis. It is an assertation with no testability.
