Is it endorsed by the Catholic Church? The Episcopalian Church? The Lutheran Church? The Presbyterian Church? The Unitarian Church?
I'm just curious. I always like to know what we Christians think, according to the atheist belief system.

Re: Jeancommunicates comment "how can you call yourself a Christian.." This comment is one very good example why I don't consider so-called fundamentalists Christians, but messianic Jews. Other denomination are free to maintain their own theologies; and they do,and they are Christian theologies. Your "creationism" is based on jewish scripture as are all of your beliefs. You are a messianic jew,not a Christian - you and all fundies.

Hi Jeancomm...and davidm...
I'm not trying to be rude, but as Christians, we are not SUPPOSED to take every single passage in the Holy Bible as 100% literal truth. There is Truth behind all of it, but not necessarily at face value; some of the Truth lies much deeper than just the story told to help people long ago understand something...hence, Genesis.
Genesis is not meant to be read as a scientific description of the origin of the Universe, or our planet, or even we humans. The main message of the early portion of Genesis is that God initiated Creation (but certainly didn't complete it in 7 "Earth days", and not necessarily in its final formation), that Humans sin and disobey God. The "on the first day...and the second day..." and the Adam and Eve / Tree of Knowledge details were descriptive embellishments that helped captivate an audience; likewise, they were somebody's best description of what they could understand; this is not even a historically accurate account.
This doesn't mean the Bible is false: it means that the Truth sometimes lies deeper than first glance and literal meanings.
I read that this "Creation Museum" claims that all animals were initially vegetarians, until Adam and Eve's sin. Ooookayyy...so why do animals have carnivorous teeth?? Either a)they started out as carnivores, hence the teeth; or b)after the Original Sin, some animals EVOLVED carnivorous teeth!! I'm quite certain the "Creation Museum" wasn't trying to imply that any kind of evolution or change ever took place; thus, this concept is easily refutable...it is likely that the other concepts are just as false as this claim.
I know literally-Bible-based Christians have a hard time understanding the subtleties of the Bible; but truly, the Bible is a much more amazing book than to only cater itself towards people who can only see what's presented...even moreso, especially as people have progressed and science has progressed, now we are called upon to look within the story to find the MEANING behind the words...
Blessings for increased knowledge for all...
Peace.

I'm not sure what your last sentence means, but to answer your main question: I think most denominations who hold a high view of Scripture support the main purpose of the Creation Museum: That is to uphold the authority of the Bible from the very first verse. Probably not many Catholics or Unitarians, maybe a few Episcopalians. Conservative Presbyterians probably support it (PC of America, but not PC-USA as they have a low view of Scripture), some conservative Lutherans (LCMS, but not ELCA as they have a low view of Scripture, or Wisconsin Synod as they are conservative to the point of being almost entirely anti-ecumenical).
Fundamentalists largely support the museum, but LCMS Lutherans who may also support the Creation Museum on an individual basis, for example, are NOT fundamentalists.
Fundamentalists uphold a literal interpretation of Genesis, but then take it too far & interpret books of different genres as literal as well (e.g. Revelation), although they fail to take the Bible literally in other important areas (i.e. real presence in Holy Communion)--so in reality "fundamentalist literal interpretation" is a misnomer.
LCMS Lutherans uphold the book of Genesis as literal on the basis that it is a historical book & this is as far as Answers in Genesis goes. There is some decision theology that is subtly presented sometimes by AiG which Lutherans don't accept on the basis that it is anti-Scriptural.
That's what I know.

Why do you assert you feel what the Word (Jesus) says within the sermon at the mount, and Then by means of inference say you do NOT feel what the Word (Jesus) says in Genesis. IMHO you are not able to have one with out the opposite. I feel in God, I additionally feel God, and the whole lot that's written within the Bible John a million:a million In the starting was once the Word, and the Word was once with God, and the Word was once God. :two The identical was once within the starting with God. :three All matters have been made by means of him; and with out him was once no longer any factor made that was once made.

No,it's just a fundie thing. The media is giving it a big play to make Christianity look bad. Expect a lot postings on it. I have no idea what it is but it certainly excites atheists, and of course fundies. They also seem to be weirdly alike - both have that evangelical fervor.

The truth of the matter is that as a Christian you either believe the Word of God or you don't believe God's Word. If you don't believe God's word I'm curious to see why you call yourself Christian.

The Catholic position all but endorses evolution, so I am sure they aren't involved. I can't tell you about the rest.
