That is the best quote relating to religion that I have ever heard.

It'd be really nice if everyone though of that....

Unfortunately, people (like Esther, no offense meant) don't.

I Have to go along with Ester, on her answer. There is no way I can Honor every religion. As a missionary worker, I have come across places where certain religions have ruined the hope of salvation in some of the people.

You can also sometimes find a morsel of some worth in a dumpster, but that does not mean you should dig through each one in search of salvaging goodness. Respect is something that is earned. Education is good, but it is one thing to learn about something that is wrong and another thing to believe in something that is wrong.

Learning about one's religion and "honoring" it are two different things. I agree we should be educated and espicially in this country, we should be tolerant. But, I stop short at honoring a religion I deem to be wrong or potentially damaging (ie... Satanism, radical Islam, branch davidian...)

I think it's a wonderful quote, however it's better balanced with understanding that this is not a "blank check" to allow other people (religion or not) to cause harm and suffering. Common sense and logic still prevails.

That's a very good qoute. Unfortunately some people can't find it within themselves to respect other people and religions.

Though I think people can be over educated, I think this would be a good doctrine to follow.
