I wish everyone thought the way you do. There are too many double standards, people say they want peace that they are peaceful but they show and act the opposite. If everyone wanted peace, there would be no war

But I guess it is not possible. Even when there is peace, there is always someone who attacks, someone who hates even among his own family. History repeats itself over and over again. I guess this is how the world will always be :(

No one "likes" war, but it is sometimes necessary to protect ourselves and our freedoms. Forgiveness is all good and fine, if forgiveness can stop another plane from being hijacked and flown into a building full of people. Your a dreamer with nice dreams...unfortunately, these dreams have absolutely nothing to do with the reality that there are people out there who want to kill each other. If this world wasn't so full of hate, I would be standing right beside you. Peace is an elusive thing at least for the masses. But it is unrealistic. I'll join you in your desire for peace, but I don't want to die beside you in an office cubicle when a plane slams into us because you didn't want our troops to protect us. Sorry.

NO! I don't agree. You can sit around and hold a candle and meditate but the problems continue. You can shove your head in the same hole Clinton did after the first attack on the WTC but it will get you the same results. The Bible is full of war or did you not bother to read it. You are way to idealistic and I truly doubt you live what you preach in your life. I am sure if you are offended or mistreated and taken advantage of you fight back.

I thought about making a smartassed post; but the fact is, at some point after the Korean war we began to see war as a foreign policy tool rather than a horrible option of last resort.

Future generations will wonder how we made this logical flaw.

Deuteronomy 20:10-12 (New International Version)

10 When you march up to attack a city, make its people an offer of peace. 11 If they accept and open their gates, all the people in it shall be subject to forced labor and shall work for you. 12 If they refuse to make peace and they engage you in battle, lay siege to that city.

All we are saying, is "Give Peace a Chance"

Most religions preach peace - few actually practice it. Christians seem to have a ton of excuses why it's OK.

Attachments are part of being human, which one CAN subdue in this life, it just takes a bit of work. Nothing logical can come of supporting anything that causes harm and suffering outside of attachment and ego.
