I can understand a protest if their tax dollars were being used for it, but it is COMPLETELY privately funded. Why bother? If creationism is such a ludicrous belief, why do they act so threatened by it? They're acting like religious zealots if you ask me.

Aren't they acting silly? Private ownership is the one sacred thing in the US and the creation museum is sitting pretty, whether I agree with them or not.

What with regard to the christians who protested removing the ten commandment monument from that courthouse? did no longer those morons have something extra powerful to do? what's horrifying human beings is that faith is making an attempt to impression technology. faith is making an attempt to tell the international what technology ought to declare. That has occurred in the previous and with terrifying effects. there have been human beings burned to dying for asserting that the earth orbited the sunlight. the persons protesting are protesting technology being tossed out with a view to delight faith. technology considers evolution actuality. Sorry to the christians yet this is real. technology additionally considers the earth orbiting the sunlight as actuality even however there are passages contained in the bible that say the earth does no longer circulate. Christians as we communicate do no longer enable that little bit of technology to intervene with their ideals. Why do they sense the could desire to purpose to get human beings to have confidence in fable as a replace of technology? i comprehend many christians who have confidence that evolution is real and that it somewhat is an element of god's plan. by employing putting forward technology humbug and coming up an entire museum that announces that creation is real is truthfully making the creationists look stupid. the persons of the U. S. are technology illiterate at the instant. Why make it worse by employing attempting to reshape technology to delight faith.

There is no such thing as an 'evolutionist'. The people were protesting the opening of something being called a 'museum' when it is in fact a bible themepark.

perhaps they feel that having a museum dedicated to an idea that consists of absolutely no facts, an idea that denies the scientific evidence accumlated by scientists for decades is wrong.

It's like having a museum dedicated to the idea that the earth is flat.

It's an idiotic idea for a museum, and hopefully, it will end up showing people how ludicrous the idea of man and dinosaur roaming the earth together really is.

A creation museum is an assault on reason (TM - Al Gore) and intellect.

A private museum of silliness isn't worth protesting. It's Kentucky, what can you expect?

It is sad that so many millions of dollars went into this fundie theme park that could have been better spent on social problems like homelessness or illiteracy.
It is sad that children will be awed by all the gee whiz special effects and animatronics and think these beliefs are supported by a significant number of scientists.
It's ironic that fundies like to use science and technology when it suits their purpose, and try to deny the science when it doesn't
It is sad that people are so ignorant of science that they find this kind of stuff convincing.

The protest had less to do with who paid for it as much as its purporting to be truth.
A CREATION MUSEUM, considering that a museum is supposed, at least by intent, a location intended to show the actual science of something involved, and subsequently the actual physical means of supporting that claim, other than the exhibits, which are just visiual aids, is almost in and of itself a willfull lie.
One cannot even successfully infer creation as it is currently claimed, much less attempt to prove it as fact.
Like evolution, creation is at best a theory at simplest, religious mythology.
they were protesting the willfull purpetration of an unprovable point, mostly based in religious mythology, as a scientific fact.

Out of concern for the intellectual child abuse that will be taking place there on a daily basis. And the people who protested were not "evolutionists". There is no such word in the english language. They were simply educated people who are realists, and who are rightfully indignant of an institution whose sole purpose is to keep children and gullible adults ignorant of the truth.

Can you really not see why those devoted to science would be upset about the teaching of bad science? For ex. flat earth, electric universe, cold fusion, creationism? The thing we worry about the most is them trying to get it into the classroom, which to Answers in Genesis' site they do not want. They are teaching crap reasoning and junk science to kids. These people are not the ones that are going to be coming up with great discoveries because the BS detector isn't honed like a skeptics.

Not that this means anything but I live 15 mins. away from that thing.

I know exactly what you are talking about since I have been following the developments of this museum. I plan on taking my children there in a few weeks. I am not sure why these people were so enraged at the mesuem. They say they do not believe in creation and I do not understand why they see it as such a threat. I believe that these people know deep inside there is something out there and doing things like this help to suppress these feelings. Just because they do not believe it does not give them the right to stand and protest the way they did. They are not trying to teach it in school, they are not making anyone attend this museum, not forcing any of it on anyone. It seems like the athesists are trying to push their lack of beliefs on us. They claim we push our beliefs on them when their theory of evolution is being taught in the school, they are not made to attend church or anything else including this museum. Don't get me wrong, we need to extend our love to these faithless groups, but we should not tolerate the hate and injustice of these types of protests!

The protestors, who are made up of non-Christians as well as Christians who do not favor literal interpretations of Genesis, have dubbed themselves Rally for Reason, and they feel that the new exhibit will create an unhealthy environment for children. The belief that evolution never existed and that the earth was made in six 24-hour days is not something that should be taught to children.

Looks like they are afraid it will instantly make you stupid if you walk in. I mean it can't help, but it won't kill you.

Well, I agree with you, actually. I think the Creation Museum is a crock. However, I wouldn't waste my time protesting it. It's silly, really.

When I have kids I will make sure they read and understand the Bible. I wouldn't teach them fairy tales, like the Creation Museum apparently does.
