THIS IS NOT SKUNKING!!!!
When beer goes through extreme temperature fluctuations, it developes stale flavors. This is not skunking.
Skunking occurs when the beer is exposed to UV light.

I have noticed that when this happens it might have a slightly different flavor to it... kind of a sour taste -- but it's still drinkable. It just depends I think on how long it stayed hot before it got cold again and if it was sitting in the sun or a warm area.

yes, depending on how warm the beer gets, people call this skunking. the beer gets an un pleasant oder and funny taste. you can still drink it but it may not taste the best.

If it is open, I would not drink it. It's going to be flat, and probably taste like the underside of a scrotum.
If it's not open, it should be ok. Unless of course you're talking about it being in a keg. We did that one time... had in in the kegerator then out, then back in...
It ended up skunked. Gross.

it doesnt taste different, but if it goes warm it loses some of the "bite" yet is not as refreshing

It should be ok the first time,but if it happens again-the term is"green beer." it could make you sicker than hell.

Yes.....but its because of the time period involved...so the carbonation is gone.
