Of course it won't make a dent...that's the whole idea. Clearly the Republicans who controlled all 3 branches could have gotten it done if they really wanted to. After all, putting up a fence would costs much less than the Iraq war. The Democrats don't mind the immigration much either because Latinos tend to join unions and vote Democratic when they become citizens.

A bill was passed last year and signed by the President to build over a 800 mile fence. Nothing has been done. Now they want to reduce the fence by more than half.

Talk about a "fence" keeps Boobus Americanus quiet and makes them think the government is "doing something" about the problem when, in fact, the government doesn't care. Big business and agribusiness NEED the cheap labor force and has been using it for over 60 years - and the government knows it.
And - I have news for you; our border with Mexico is 1,950 miles long....the border with Canada is 5,522 miles (longest in the world).. In addition, we have over 23,000 miles of coastline - most of it unguarded and easy to get to in small boats. Then, of course, there are the Hawaiian islands....how would you fence that off? You cannot fence the U.S. off - period....
It's all "pie-in-the-sky" to try and divert our attention from our real problems which are: The illegal war in Iraq which causes our government to borrow 2 1/2 BILLION dollars a day, our failing economy, falling housing market... then you have the middle class jobs being outsourced to our good friends in China, the Phillipines, Eastern Europe and El Salvador.... We also have 43 million citizens without health insurance who are breaking our medical system - once considered the finest in the world. We have over 50% of our seniors who cannot afford to buy prescription drugs to keep them alive - if they buy food.
The immigration issue is a huge smokescreen.

What is more, Congress overwhelmingly passed, and Bush signed a law to put 700 miles of fence up before the October election and only .2 miles have been built. This is being touted as border security but would cut the fence in HALF.
And on the border patrol, do you see anything saying they have to be on our border? Recently Bush sent our most elite border patrol to Iraq, to teach them how to defend THEIR borders.

Absolutely! What a farce for politicians to think that will help! Shows you how stupid GW Bush really is, doesn't it? I wonder what they're gonna do about the murderers, rapists and pedophiles among those illegals? Did you know that 95% of the warrants in LA county for MURDER are for ILLEGAL ALIENS? How in the hell can our stupid azz president think that making those people legal can do anything but harm our country? He's such an idiot!

Illegal in America
Memorial Day is an important moment in remembrance of those brave and women who have died for the preservation of freedom that we cherish in America. Many Americans visited memorials set fourth throughout the nation. From New York to Los Angeles walls are engraved with last names like Johnson, Mitchell, Jackson, Nguyen. In this wall you will also find names that end with Ramirez, Lopez, Jimenez, Ruiz. All these names are symbols of pride for us. These names of these heroes have given the ultimate sacrifice fighting the Global war on Terror. It’s very probable that some of the people who have died in combat have parents or relatives who are here illegally. Are we going to send John and Ken to knock on the door and have to say the following, “We regret to inform you that your son or daughter died in combat, we are very sorry. Now we have to deport you back to you’re nation of origin.”
The debate for Immigration reform has been heated up by racist entities like John and Ken from KFI radio in Los Angeles. These shock jocks like to dehumanize the Hispanic people just like the Nazi’s dehumanized countless Jews before executing them. John and Ken, want America to think that Hispanics don’t value education, which is simply irresponsible and hateful. This rhetoric is exactly what we don’t need in this tenuous debate. The only way the Immigration issue will be solved by comprehensive Immigration reform PERIOD!
I am all in favor of building a wall, therefore keeping out Terrorists and criminals from our shores. However, I am not in favor of persecuting and verbally lynching these people like KFI Radio constantly advocates on it’s airwaves in order to gain ratings. Thank you to President Bush for his leadership in this divisive issue. And Thank you to all Americans for supporting those people who are in fact Americans!!
