Yes, your brother and his wife can save it and the child can read it when they are a little older. It will be fun for her to have things that you sent her when she was just a baby.

Usually yes. But I don't really see any point in sending a card to an infant who can't read it. Maybe send the gift along with a note?

My mother put all my birthday, holiday cards in my baby book. When she gave it to me I enjoyed looking at all the cards and reading little notes people sent to me. So I would send a card along with your gift.

Can the 1 year old read? Of course not. The card, if gotten would be more for the parents to put away in a box for thirty years and pull out and say "Look what I saved"...
Hope this helps...

It is appropriate to send a card that acknowledges and celebrates the child's life. It is more for the parents, but is a good idea.

ya, her parents might think its rude. Up untill the age of about 12, no kid really cares about the card unless theres money, sparkels stuffed inside or if its a musical card. Just ge one from the dollar store to make he parents feel good.

I think it would be nice. There are such cute cards for the first birthday. If the child's parents are "savers" they may save the first birthday cards for the baby book.

I'd probably send a card, only because when she gets older she can read it. It'll be cute for her to be able to read what her uncle wrote to her several years ago.

Yes, the first one is very important, the parents will likely keep and pass onto the child when they are grown.

yeah, get a 99cent one and put some money in it. her parents can save the card for her and that money can go into a saving account or something like that.
