I have had a rough couple of months with the dentist and oral surgeon. I had a cleaning and had 3 cavities filled in March. I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed in April. I've been back to the dentist 4 times since then trying to get my bite right from the fillings. I finally have no pain in my mouth for the first time in a long time. The last time I was in having my bite fixed the dentist told me that I still had one more tooth that needed to be filled. I knew that I had one more, but with all of the crazy stuff happening the past 2 months, I had forgotten that I had one of the other side of my mouth :0) I made an appt for June 15th to have the last cavity filled. I have been told that I can't take the time off work to go to the dentist that day. ( We have too many people in our office out for vacation that week) The next available appt is not until July 11th. I'm just wondering, is it going to be OK to wait that long to have this last tooth filled? It doesn't bother me at all.

Explain your situation to the dentist and ask him to be sure, but generally speaking, if its not too close to the nerve, you are probably OK to wait...but only your dentist will know for susre if that is the case.

That depends on how bad the cavity is and if it's causing you any problems. The best person to ask would be your dentist and explain your situation. I'm sure that if it were urgent they would have told you. Some dentist offices also have one day a week where they are open past normal business hours for people who work different shifts than the norm. Maybe you can make an appointment for after work. Best wishes!

You never can tell for sure, but as long as it's not hurting, it's probably OK to wait one month. Just don't put it off much longer or it will start to give you problems or you'll lose more tooth from the decay. You can't go on the 15th anyway, so take the next available appointment on the 11th and ask them to call you if they get a cancellation before 7/11.

You should be ok until July. Just don't forget to get it filled. Cavities can do a lot of damage to your teeth if they are not taken care of quickly.

If it's just a simple cavity, then it should be fine. As long as it's not something severe, like a rotten tooth or a chipped tooth.

Just keep up with good oral hygiene until you can get it filled and it should be alright. And they do sell temporary fillings at stores and you can always get one of those until your dentist appointment..

just remember that there are hundreds of people everywhere who never see dentists. your diligence is good since they say dental health can affect the health of your whole body, but you'll be fine waiting til july. especially since it isn't even bothering you now. just keep brushing and flossing
