...when they find themselves condemned of their sins?
They're not "familiar" enough with it to know what God said about it though.
The Old Testament law was given to a specific group of people, the Jews. God said to Moses, "...I have made a covenant with thee, and with Israel" (Exodus 34:27).
The Old Testament supplies much material for our learning.
It allows us to see God operate with mankind throughout history.
They don't UNDERSTAND....Did you notice that?

David I, Thank you. I appreciate your love for Jesus. But I don't buy into the "ask Jesus into your heart" gospel, "sinners prayer" gospel, etc. There are NO examples of ones being saved like this in the scriptures. Acts give MANY axamples of what one must do to be saved.

Their anti-Christian websites give the scripture and verse to use, mostly yes, from the old testament that they can use to question Christian beliefs. So does their cute little Atheist Bible...but remember, they are not organized, do not want to be a religion of their own and have no common issues (yeah sure, lololol).

I have noticed that many people that try to make God into an evil God and miss-quote OT. They take small scripture out and say see here or there. The thing is if you read before or after It says how full of hate and evil the people that had judgment passed on them were.
The OT is easier attacked than the good news of the gospels. The New Testament is more above reproach and is left alone by would be mockers.

Did you know that the Jews lived in Ancient Egypt for 400 years just before God 'gave' them the Ten Commandments? Did you also know that Judaism looks a lot like the religion the Ancient Egyptians used?

Humility is a surprising modern-day. i think it somewhat is performed by employing entire submission of one’s will to God’s will. contained in the Sermon of the Mount Jesus says: “Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth”. The meek (or humble) are people who quietly positioned up to God; who can undergo insult; are silent, or return a mushy answer; who, of their staying power, save possession of their very own souls, whilst they could scarcely save possession of something. those meek ones are blessed, even in this international. Meekness promotes wealth, convenience, and protection. The scriptures time and time returned relate how God loves the person-friendly-or-backyard. From Zephaniah, "seek for the Lord, all you humble of the earth, who've talked approximately his regulation; seek for justice, seek for humility;" and "i will pass away as a remnant on your midst a human beings humble and lowly, who shall take secure haven contained in the call of the Lord: the remnant of Israel." And from Psalm 146, "The Lord lifts up people who're bowed down." From Corinthians: "think of of what you have been once you have been called. no longer lots of you have been smart, no longer many influential, and truthfully no longer many properly-born. God chosen the absurd to disgrace the smart; he singled out the at risk of disgrace the good. He chosen the lowborn and despised, people who count style for no longer something, to cut back to no longer something people who have been something." God decide a individual by employing the success they have performed in this international. yet He reaches out with love and therapeutic and advantages to the meek, the undesirable, the oppressed, the hungry, the blind, strangers, orphans, widows, the vulnerable, the despised, the sorrowing, and the persecuted.

and you're forgetting that the 613 commandments of G-d were given as an "everlasting covenant throughout all your generations" and that G-d said, " I am G-d. I do not change." There is no "new covenant".. there is only the covenant G-d made with the Jewish people. That's where you christians don't UNDERSTAND the "old testament".

Yes I do.
And Paul says in Romans that the Laws of God are a mirror to show us our sin-- like a schoolmaster as one ministry calls it.
Once they realize they have sinned agaisnt God, and need a Savior- Jesus Christ, it is then they come to understand the grace of God, and His salvation. The Holy Spirit has to open their eyes though- It is only through Him that one can "see" and that the veil is lifted~

Most Christians have never read the "old" testament, in my experience. For that matter, plenty of them have never read their "new" testament, and have zero idea what EITHER of them says. They just parrot what Pastor Billy Joe Dumbass of the Little Red Church in the Wildwood bellows on Sunday mornings - that is, if they can get over their hangovers and show up.

yes and the new covenant was promised in Jeremiah 31:31 and following verses.
and partial truth can be worse than no truth.
this is how I came to know the whole truth and the OT was given for an example -the Law came by Moses to the Jewish people, but grace (undeserved favor came by the Messiah Jesus)=know the Jesus who offers heaven instead of torment forever in hell weeping wailing and gnashing teeth forever for rejecting the salvation Jesus offers=Matthew chapter 12 and Revelations 19-22 the agony of hell and the joy of heaven described, along with the sowing of the sead of the Word of God. This is how I learned the easy way=
Jesus is the unique only begotten son of God, John 3:16 who loves us unconditionally.
truth in the Messiah =He knocks on every heart-to come in and deliver even from one lie and be our personal Messiah, savior and best friend. Revelation 3:19&20
he was predicted all the way back to Adam and Eve Genesis 3:15 chapter 3 verse 15
and 700 years before he came perfectly predicted=
Isaiah 52:13-53:12 "All we like sheep have gone astray. He will lay down his life as a lamb to make atonement for our sins."
Isaiah 9:6 "Unto you a child will be born, a Son is given, and he is almighty God, the prince of peace." Jesus is God-
free will in salvation is the offer of the Messiah Jesus for our soul to us, yet all in his knowledge=Life is offered -yet death and passing to everlasting life in hell and heaven is a reality too.
Do not condemn a doctor for offering you the cure for the disease that would kill you! Jesus paid the ultimate price to die for our sins, so we can believe-had these Scriptures Revelation 3:19&20 Salvation & chapters 19-22 of death and hell, been given without the offer of his salvation and the joy of heaven life and death would be hopeless.
Messiah Jesus is my savior and best friend, and that helps me to share his salvation that others may believe too, and be rescued as I was from the judgement to hell.
John 3= repented of sin and got born again, asking him into my heart to be my friend, amen.
I prayed "Jesus I am sorry for my sins, come into my heart and be my friend, help me, amen."
He said "I love you and knock on your heart door to come in, deliver from sin when you repent (-even of one lie), and ask me in to be your friend." Revelation 3:19&20
what an honor and joy to know Jesus , now my Messiah and best friend.
prayin for you too, David
