Please be realistic. No matter materializers, force fields, disks that make you float, and whatnot. (dont give me things you saw in phil of the future) This is half my grade so please give me good ideas. I have to make a power point display, a 3-D model and a diagram of the invention.

For our AutoCad class final project, we designed a bug zapper that emmited [low levels] of CO2, and light to attract mosquitos, and bugs. It was dessigned in such way that once the bug got zapped, it would fall on a removable tray. The whole thing was covered so that you wouldn't see dead bugs everytime you walked by it. The zapper could be mounted on the wall, a desk, or on a stand, and the CO2 emmissor was easy to reach.

If you were to look in the catalog of patents (and you can go online to look at all of them back to the mid-70's -- all but the very latest ones, anyway) what you will find is that the vast majority of patents are for improvements on existing inventions. Very few patents are truly unique.

Find something simple like a household item and think about a way to improve on it, like the guy above and his automatic pooper-scooper -- that's exactly what I am talking about: improvements to existing inventions.

Over the past 2 centuries, there are probably over 10,000 patents just for 'new-and-improved' mousetraps, alone.

When you present your invention, make sure you repeat what I said about the vast majority of patents (new inventions) simply being improvements on existing inventions.

my teacher/friend always told me that people love toys. an idea i came up with before was an electronic portable lie detector. How fun would it be to tell if your friends are lieing just by holding a little device close to their mouth and a little light shows if they are lying or not. (red = lie...green = not lying) thats what i did. I got an A for the idea but B+ for presentation. This was mainly becuase everyone had video presentations for marketing (commericals); i wasnt expecting that.

here is a good one...I get sick and tired of detangling my iPod's earphones. so, how about earphones that wind up by tugging on them and then they would roll up in a small compartment, spring loaded like the cord on your vaccum or hair dryer.

An automatic pooper scooper that you let loose in your yard, like those little round broom machines....and if you build one, I want one!

Plus...what's more fun than trying to come up with tactful words for poop!

If i tell you my idea, then it will be my invention, not yours, so do yourself.
