conform to our beliefs or trying to pass laws that take away their rights. Are there any christians on this site that have ever had anything to do with these accusations or do most of you, such as myself, just live your lifes as exempary as you can? I honestly have not seen any questions or answers from obvious christians that appear to be forcing your beliefs on others. So do you think this is job a cop out and an easy answer atheists post rather than coming up with a truly intelligent answer?

Apparently many of you cannot read. I didnt say that there are no christians, especially in government, that arent doing what you dislike. I asked if there were any on this site as most of you atheists take it out on us when we have nothing to do with what the "religious" people in office do.

To me myself: I have been to that section and if you will look at my answers you will see that I disagree with any person, christian or not who condemns them.

To Morgan H: I dont see how asking a question is preaching and I certainly didnt see anything about arrogance or insult in my question. I merely ask if anyone on this site is guilty of what most of you complain about.

To atheist: You are not getting the point. I didnt say none of those things are happening I am simply trying to point out that very few if any of us on this site have anything to do with that, yet in the posts here continually blame us for it. I dont like the way things are going in our government any more than most of you do, but am I any more to blame for that than you are. NO IM NOT!!!

Never, I have never been involved in any way with trying to change laws or stop the enacting of laws that take away any one's religious freedoms. I do vote, but could not tell you a candidates religious beliefs for the life of me.

Exemplary.....wow you must have gotten fired up! The question doesn't quite make sense if you just read it literally. I say just live and let live. When judgment day comes, Jesus will take the righteous and the rest will be cast in the lake of fire. If no one listens to you, then shake the dust off of your shoes and go on with your life. You are only one person and can only do so much. Let the rest of us burn and smile as you watch our corpses consumed by the flames.

Peace and love to you.

I live my life to and for God. I may be in this world but I do not conform to this world. I live my life, worship God and help those who are less fortunate. I dont force my beliefs on anyone, never have never will. I dont condemn anyone or judge them, that is for God alone to do. Im not trying to change any laws. I just wish people would let us live our lives in peace and realize we are all not fundys.

Really? Because when a law came up in my state that would stop people from discriminating against gay people, 90% of the voters thought they should have the right to discriminate. Those where the Christians, since about 95% of my state is Christian and they were the only ones arguing against the law. How is that not passing laws to enforce your superstitions?

I would give you that point, if there weren't so many Christians trying to change the world to conform to their beliefs.

Of course there are Christians that don't preach the Gospel or tell people they are headed for hell, or who try to change the world to require adhearance to thier point of view.

But there are many who do. The republican party relies on them as a voting base.

You are right though, there are many more reasons not to like Christians beyond their need to force their version of morality on others. One of my personal favorites is the Christian trait of ignoring scientific evidence when it is convenient, and ignoring biblical teaching when it isn't culturally acceptable.

This is very similar to the issue of Islam being blamed for terrorism. You see muslims do not actively fight against terrorism, nor do they make reasonable attempts to purge terrorists from their groups. Yet terrorists will almost always try to attach themselves to Islam. The muslims would rather say, "No, it is not us; it is them" and just fingerpoint elsewhere but never take any personal responsibility and never provide any contribution to the elmination of terrorism. I see them as being part of the problem because they are allowing terrorists a cover, a safe haven.

The passive Christians are doing the same thing by not policing themselves. They would rather sit back idly and say, "It is not me; it is them!" But who is them? It is always someone else. No personal responsibility. If you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem if you are in any way associated.

Force is a strong word, I have never had any force their beliefs on to me, but Christians often use threats and empty promises to get me to see things their way.

Not only that but if I were American I would be worried about the influence that Evangelical Christians have on politics.

You don't pay much attention, do you?

All those people trying to put creationism in school, ban gay relationships, put crosses and 10 commandments in courthouses...

Have someone read you the news once in a while, you're in for a shock.

When we say that we aren't just talking about the christians here on answers....we are talking about the christians in the real world...the ones who are saying that certain people should not have rights to marry because of sexual orientation...we are talking about the ones that are campaigning to put creationism in our public school curriculum...we are talking about the ones who want school prayer and bible study to be led by teachers in public school...we are talking about the ones who want to tell women what to do with their bodies...we are talking about the ones who don't want sex ed to be taught in schools and object to teens having access to birth control....it goes soooo much further than the christians here on answers....but obviously by your question you seem to think that you people are the only ones who matter in this world....

A couple of things that spring to mind:
Trying to get Creationism / Intelligent design taught in schools as a valid scientific theory.
Overturning the rights of women to choose.
Of yeah, and trying to get Harry Potter banned because it promotes witchcraft!! But that one is just funny!!
