One doctor prescribed me .5mg every four hours, but of I course I took 2mg immediately and none for the rest of the day. It helped some but not enough. Another doctor did .25mg twice a day, along with Lexapro. Of course I popped 2mg of the xanax as soon as I got the bottle. I felt relaxed at first, but then the gas pump at cheveron wouldnt coroporate with me so I started kicking it and puching out the advertisment signs on it, so obviously the xanax doesn't work for me. I'm afraid to up the dose because of its additictive qualities, even if I wanted to, its very difficult to get docs to prescribe this in large amounts. I need something much more sedative, more easily prescribed by doctors, less addictive and less withdrawls.

Okay, your first problem is that you are abusing this drug. You need to take it exactly how it is prescribed to get the best benefits from it. Taking Xanax throughout the day would be more sedating than taking a huge dose all at once. I'm thinking you probably need some therapy along with the medication to help with your anger issues. You need to learn how to control it instead of expecting a pill to take care of it for you.

You should check out anger management classes in your area, and also get some counseling. Xanax will work better if you take it three times per day--evenly divided hours. Xanax does not stay in your system that long, so taking a bunch of it at once is not going to do a whole lot of good.
Check out meditation (you can take out books at the library)--it clears the mind, and helps may people.
At home, use lavender candles or incense. Lavender is very relaxing, and may help.
Don't use caffeine (coffee, regular tea, chocolate, Mountain Dew, cola, energy drinks). Also, cut down or eliminate sugar.
Try drinking Chamomile Tea, or Sleepytime Tea--and check out other herbal teas, the two I mentioned are relaxing.
Ask your doctor if Klonopin (clonazepam) will work for you. It stays in the system much longer than Xanax, Valium or Ativan, but it does take longer to start working. Doctors are more willing to prescribe this than Xanax, generally.
You didn't mention if you're coming off alcohol or drugs--as this can make people really mean. If you are, tell a doctor (not necessarily the same one you are seeing now), and see what he or she recommends--you can even call pharmacists on the phone--some will tell you what meds are good for particular ailments.
Another thing could be that your doctor misdiagnosed your problem. You see it as only anger--it could be a lot more than that. You should see a psychiatrist, psychologist, etc. and get another opinion of WHY you are so angry. If money's a problem, call the emergency room and ask for the phone number of the free or sliding-scale mental health clinic nearby.
I wish you peace...

Seriously, have you considered an anger management course?
Or cognitive behavioural therapy? It occurs to me that for a long term option, these might be of more help.
If the lexapro doesn't help that much, you might find another anti depressant more relaxing; speak to your doctor about this.
It's great that you're resisting the temptation to just up the xanax - good for you!
