I am moving to a city where I do not need a car and want to get out of my lease early.

that is tough to say. I would talk to your dealership who you signed the lease with and find out what is your best option. Maybe you can forward the lease to your friend? I am not sure, but canceling flat out will be the most expensive option.

THis may be easier than you think depending on the situation. Call up your bank and find out the curret "buy out" on the lease. This is the value that the bank will take to terminate the lease and allow you to buy the car. If it is in good shape and the miles are reasonable, you may be able to sell it privately for near what this value is.

Cheap is not synonymous with exiting a leased car before maturation...lol! You may want to try the websites including but not limited to leasetrader.com and swapalease.com. Both are pretty good websites for buying and selling a leased vehicle.

Call your lease company for a payoff and also go to www.kbb.com and book the vehicle at trade-in and dealer retail. You can determine from there which avenue is best for you to follow.
