It's been too long since I've been to the dentist, and I just called for an appointment. Considering my genetics and past experiences, I have a feeling these teeth will need quite a bit of work and probably multiple fillings.

What I notice though is that the more I think about the holes that might be in my teeth, the more I tend to feel like there is pain in there. They feel really sensitive.

Who thinks I'm psyching myself out, vs. feeling actual pain from possible cavities??

Psyching yourself out is what I would say... had the same thing with one of my teeth, the more I thought that my filling fell off (which it didn't, but at first I thought it did..) the more I thought my teeth was starting to hurt, when in fact there was nothing there to begin with heh.

Then again, some of your teeth MAY be sentitive because it's been a while since you've visited a dentist and might need some work on them... it's best to get it checked out though. I took a long time before I started taking care of my teeth and now I just had to go through a root canal today heh... not fun, but at least i'm pain free again. :P

If you haven't seen a dentist in many years, there are a few things that are likely to cause sensitivity. A build-up of plaque around the gum line can cause discomfort. Enamel also wears down and becomes porous, causing your teeth to be sensitive to cold. Try not to worry so much. You've made the appointment before the onset of a large problem. Dentistry has made some amazing advances in the last few years, so your visit should not be unpleasant (and the only pain you'll feel is when you get the bill).
