How could someone from another religion go to hell for believing in the wrong God, while the most notorious inquisitor of the Spanish Inquisition went to heaven for believing in the correct one?

Again, I made an error in spelling. I meant Christian. I am so sorry for all the pain and suffering anyone may feel by being exposed to a misspelled word. I do hope the world will continue on okay with this calamity.

Of course he went to heaven. He was a good christian. Doin what they all would like to do if they were in power. This guy is the one that all good christians who believe in a loving , just and merciful god would want them to be like. These good christains of course will not openly admit to this because they want you to believe that they are good and honest and truthful. But, once they have the reigns of power this man is exactly the one they will look to for lessons. They now say that this man was not a christian or he was a catholic and this makes them seem better to the sheep for if people figured out or opened up their eyes to the reality of all religion maybe we could put an end to all of the dogma's that teach they are right and everyone else is wrong. And most of the religions teach that very thing. So go ahead good sheep of the chirst and fight the good fight for your hateful, jealous, merciless god that kills when it seems like a good thing to do and makes people suffer because they have no proof or evidence to believe in an unimaginable being such as a god or goddess. All religions throughout the history of human exsistance a tried to subjegate the masses and prey on those that could not defend themselves so that they would be on top and in power. They care little for anyone other than themselves and this can be proven by all of the mega churches throughout the US. If these "good christians" cared about people or their own dogma they would spend this money feeding and clothing the poor, sick. Also, they would not want to go to war with others because after all the body is the temple of god and to destory the temple of god seems to be a bad thing to me. So if a christian at anytime supports a war he is not a christian because war means death and death is the destruction of the temple of god. But, wait that only applies to the christian that wars against another christian all the rest are infidels and pagan's that need to meet god quickly so that they can pat themselves on the back and talk of how good they are in their church and to their so called christian friends. No if there is a hell it should have an open reservation for all christians and any other religion that seeks to kill people because they do not believe in what that sect is teaching.

He did not go to heaven. He will have to undergo a lot of suffering in hell to be purged of his wickedness. Is hell eternal? Not clear from the biblical texts. I suspect hell is a place of purging. As for people of other faiths, like Gandhi and the Dalai Lama are lightyears ahead in the spiritual stakes. Interestingly, the Catholic church has modified its position on the 'no salvation outside the church' idea. The Catholic church is now more progressive than many protestant churches! Many Christians, Catholic or otherwise, would have no problems with the idea of a christlike person of another faith going to heaven.

As a Dominican Friar (priest) he would obviously believe in and accept Jesus and would therefore certainly go to Heaven despite his murderous actions.
Gandhi, of course would go to hell.
And they wonder why people scoff at Christianity.

My bad...still
You are confusing "Christian" with "Roman Catholicism."
According the Christian teachings, Tomas was a bigotted, merciless hater of Jews, while holding the dark secret of his own Jewish heritage.
Catholics may tell you he went to heaven, I doubt that Christians would tell you that.
Please know your terminology before assuming.

I agree it is not fair, Satan could have used a talented man like that on the interrogation team in Hell.

Are you God? Only God can judge what is in a persons heart and soul. Are you the heaven attendance taker? If not, how do you know who is in heaven or not?

Which doctrine? Must be the catholics... they used to be able to pay for their guaranteed spot in heaven because, you know, the more money you give the priest the easier it is for him to bribe St. Peter

If he did wicked things in his life, he is accountable to God for them, regardless of his 'belief'.
But your underlying question is a good one: you need to ask God that. Start with finding out what the Bible says about the state of non-Christians, and what the Church says about it.
