Mary'sIC was borrowed from several Pagan religions.
IF Jesus existed, I think he was born of a plain old birth. The story was embelished to make him Divine. He MIGHT have been a messenger. He doesn't have to be divine to do that.

Actually as the story goes she did tell Joseph and he was going to leave her and say that the child was his to save her from being stoned to death. However an angel appeared to him and told him he will take her as his wife.
Also she didn't stay a virgin. Hence in the Bible we read about James the brother of Jesus.

NO NO NO- think about it- it may be possible to try to convince Joseph however an angel told him , not Mary- then a person just born of man and woman, could perform all those miracles, die on the cross for the world and then rise from the dead, and show Himself to people who saw Him die? I DO NOT THINK SO...........

pretty much, she had to lie because the ancient laws would have had to her to be stoned to death. She didn't think THAT far ahead.
