I was that same way till i got into college, I never had any confidence and feard rejection, then one day I said **** it and after that I've had my fair share of girls and now have meet the woman i intend to marry and I'm about to be 23 myself. You really need to put yourself out there cause you are missing opportunities and time only gets faster as you get older so man up and get on that horse cause its really no way to live

Well you just need to get the courage up and ask someone. Practice makes perfect they say. You did miss out on opportunities in high school Im sure, but you can remedy that. Being shy can be very isolating. If you are ready for a relationship, keep your eyes open, pleny of opportunities comeup everyday to ask someone out. Or have friends introduce you to people, believe me, this can be helpful. And think if your friends know the person, and like her, thats a plus.. Good luck.

I would say yes you missed out. You never know what you might be missing unless you go for it. But it's not to late now. I say take a risk. You can overcome your shyness a little at a time. You are never too old for love.

just get out more maybe.
you are young, so many people your age feel like they are old and going to retire soon, don't worry, you are not.
so relax, enjoy life and things will come to you, but you have to create the opportunity for them to come, no one is going to see you in your house, nor are they going to find much interest in you if the only thing you did your whole life was play video games.
shy? one solution, alcohol, i know you are against but no one says you have to get drunk, but it will do you great just to loosen up.
also, be yourself, don't try and jump on the bandwagons on how everyone else is. people should be trying to be like YOU, not you trying to be like others.

sweetie don't be embarrased, it fine u have ever had a girlfriend, ur just moving alot slower then most guys its fine i sure sooner or later u'll find a girl u really want to date or maybe even a girl will ask u out dont even worry about it

no, not really. some people just want to wait until they find the right 1 to go with.i mean,sooner or later you will find someone and when you do,both of you will know.believe it or not,i use to be shy when i was younger,but i just made up my mind,what could they say,but no.just jump in and say something like this:hi there,i was wondering if you would like to get something to eat,then maybe we could catch a movie,or you could just say:hi there,what are you doing this saturday,if she says nothing,then you could say,would you like to go to the movies.what can she say,but no,if she turns you down,dont give up,there are alot more fish in the sea.
