U get used to em, they're not bad. It depends, the ortho will tell you. Just brush really well.

I had a small gap between my two front teeth and I had a tooth in the back of my mouth that grew in sideways. All my other teeth were perfectly straight and I had braces for a year and a half. I'm thinking that you will have braces for roughly the same amount of time as me, maybe a bit longer because of the 2 teeth that stick out. My suggestion to you is to get the little brush that cleans between the brackets and floss everyday. Cut back on soda and other foods that stain your teeth and mouth as well. That way when your braces come off, you won't have bracket sized stains on your teeth. Good luck!

they usually start off telling you you'll need them for about 2 years, and then you will have to wear a retainer for 2 years. If your teeth are moving rapidly then in between check ups they should tell you your progress. I was supposed to have mine on for 2 years, and now am only gonna have them for a year an a month which is good news for me. Dependant on the severity of the gap that you have and the angle at which your teeth stick out, you probably shouldn't need them that long. They are most likely gonna start you out on a spring to close the gap then after about a month and a half or so, they will start you on rubberbands to fix the allignment, so it shouldn't be that bad.

yea, if the Ortho tells you 2 - assume you will have them 4. at least then you won't be mad when it takes 3. Orthos do a terrible job estimating the amount of time. Honestly a lot has to do with whether people wear their rubber bands and headgear which are the things that actually move your teeth. If you wear them all the time you will move your teeth faster. So you want to wear these all the time, and then get them off faster.
I know you will feel embarrassed, but you will only be embarrassed if you feel that way - and honestly you don't have to feel embarrassed. Just refuse to think negative thoughts like that. People care more about your other physical features more. They do - you may not think that, but they don't care that much.

I have to have mine 2 years which is pretty standard b/c they need to make sure your teeth wont go back after they take the wires off. Dont worry plus you will like to go to get your colors changed I always like to Good Luck

The length of time you'll have braces on is something your orthodontist has to answer. For me, I was told 2.5 years and had them on for 5!!! The orthodontist ripped me and my parents off big time and I still have crooked teeth! So be careful!

it really depends on your ortho. usually they last like 2-3 years. i myself only had them for 10 months on the bottom and a yr on the top. not so bad. at first its weird but you get used to them and they become a part of you. good luck! you'll love it when you get them off!
