Do you think even though I was born attracted to the same sex that I should be punished for my feelings and following my heart?
Wasn't Mankind born of His image? I know the Bible says things against it and it is unnatural but am I supposed to completely sacrifice my life and the love of another person because I do not happen to fit in with his divine plan? I can't help how I feel or how I am . Was I just here to completely serve His interest and marry a person that I absolutely have no attraction to mentally or physically ?

Thanks for the input but Midge and Melanie don't seem to appreciate the fact that I truly can't help how i feel about the same sex or how i feel about the opposite sex. One even compared my feelings of a murderer who can't control their feelings about killing someone. I'm not sure how my preferences are compared to a murderer but how about you going up to a brother or your father and giving him a nice long kiss.... oh I'm sorry, is that repulsive to you? Just can't help how you feel , right? I am not apologizing for who i am ... I am just asking from a religious standpoint and God's final Judgement. Not yours. Thank you everyone else for your honest answers whether I liked what i heard or not, at least they were respectful and from the heart .

Just as I was born with a heterosexual orientation, I am convinced that you were born with your own orientation. I don't believe either one of us is responsible for how we feel. It's just the way it is. Please don't give up and continue to stand tall.

Yes God can forgive you of any sin, except the sin in which you allow yourself to die and reject His plan for you.

Now I recomment you get a copy of the Message, or the New Living Translation and read the the 1st chapter of Romans at about verse 18 thru to chapter 2 verse 2.

Read this passage again and again (approx 10 times) like once in the morning and once in the evening. Each time meditate on the passasge, ask God to explain His word to you throughout the day.

After these 5 days then for the next 30 days read the Book of 1st John (5 little chapters) every day for 30 days. I believe the Holy Spirit is able to answer you based on these passages

At the end of that 30 days return to Romans passage in the morning( for 5 days and write down your thoughts on the passage) and start reading the Gospel of John, like a chapter a day every day until you finish. I would also recommend you look into a church in the area that has a good praise and worship service and check it out.

God Bless and I pray His Spirit be upon you

I am sorry for all that you have to put up with because of who you are. I don't believe in the Bible or its God, so it wouldn't be an issue for me. I am a straight woman and I feel that too many people are just so closed minded. Not to be a cliche, but my best friend is gay and through him I have met some very wonderful men and women who are gay or lesbian.
Just ignore the idiots and be who you are.
I hope that one day it won't matter what a person's sexual preference is.

God does not create a person with homosexual desires. The Bible tells us that a person becomes a homosexual because of sin (Romans 1:24-27), and ultimately because of their own choice. A person may be born with a greater susceptibility to homosexuality, just as people are born with a tendency to violence and other sins. That does not excuse the person choosing to sin by giving into their sinful desires. If a person is born with a greater susceptibility to anger / rage, does that make it right for then to give into those desires? Of course not! The same is true for homosexuality.

However, the Bible does not describe homosexuality as a “greater” sin than any other. All sin is offensive to God. Homosexuality is just one of the many things listed in 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 that will keep a person from the kingdom of God. According to the Bible, God’s forgiveness is just as available to a homosexual as it is to an adulterer, idol worshipper, murderer, thief, etc. God also promises the strength for victory over sin, including homosexuality, to all those who will believe in Jesus Christ for their salvation (1 Corinthians 6:11; 2 Corinthians 5:17).

I supposed those who yell "Witch" at gay people or people with a different lifestyle or cultures are free from any of the wrong doings mentioned in the bible?

- These same people I assume are against Women's rights and liberation?

- These same people I assume believe that Slavery is a God given right based on some verses found in the Bible?

- And these same people are ready to put whomever has had sex out of wedlock to death by stoning in the city square?

If one can yell "Witch" or condemn someone for one sin, it should apply for ALL sins non? Sins all sins are equal in the eyes of God?

I believe .... YES, God in his supreme and utter sovereignity can forgive whomever he has made "that" way. It may be a test for you to see, if you can stay true to yourself and still find a place in your heart to devote yourself to your God. God may want to see if you can rise above insults and taunts from wicked hearts and cruel minds, and help those who come after you who have been condemn, excommunicated and hated by mislead minds and distorted hearts...

How can a God supposed to be composed of the very Essence of Love, Compassion and Joy be so dreadful toone whose heart is sincere, and full of his love?? If he can be so dreadful... you are better off worshipping a Fruit tree, at least once a year the fruit tree will bear you some fruit to nourish and nurture you without any conditions except that you water and care for it well.

Mormons have faith that gay habit is forgiveable. you're misunderstanding some things.

first off, it's not what you were born inclined to that matters, but whether you sin or not. having 'feelings' isn't necessarily wrong, but believing contrary to God, condoning sin and practicing sin is wrong. it's not the urges that make someone a sinner.

secondly, love is not instantaneous. only infatuation is. love is something that must develop and blossom. you may not need to even lust after their body. seriously, even a good friend (of the opposite gender) can make a good spouse if you're compatible (personalities, not astrology). love isn't based solely on "man he's hot" or "I wanna 'be' with them". love is a lot more complex and grand

thirdly, God's image refers to Him giving us a soul with emotions, will and a mind. however, God has no hormones.
lust is not something He has (okay as Jesus He knew what it felt like being prone to lusts, but He didn't give into them).

fourthly, okay your "orientation" may not be a choice, but staying with it is. again, God doesn't really care what urges you have. that's hormones not Him. He cares that you're sinning. homosexuality is wrong for reasons other than it being against God's plan for marriage. it promotes changing the Bible's messages, pardoning sin, lying in some cases, being judgemental (pre-judging mostly), not being fully committed to God and also being rebellious in some cases (parents say no, child says yes).

and fifthly, God has many purposes for your life. marriage may just be one. but it's still your choice. you were not created for reproduction, you were created as a soul for a body, as a human being with much potential, with talents and abilities, and the ability to be fully submitted to God and benefit humanity. Yes God can forgive you for anything, even this (the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is continual, so don't worry about that right now). I hope that helps.

NO, don't throw your life or your love away because of what some Christian fundies or an old book say. The way I see it if God really is all-loving and all-forgiving he'll let you into heaven regardless of your sexual orientation. The Christian God is supposed to be "above" humans and yet he is often described as being more hypocritical, bigoted, and judgmental than most humans (one of the reasons why I left the religion). Follow your heart. I believe that can tell you what "god" wants and what you want AND NEED more than anything else.

Yes, you can be forgiven of homosexuality, just as you can be forgiven of fornication, adultry, lying, stealing, cheating etc...because it is all sin to our Father...homosexuality is an abomination,...and He can help you overcome your lusts...if you search back, and be true to yourself...did some man in your life destroy your faith in men? Were you abused by a male sexually? did this turn you off against the opposite sex? It is NOT natural, to be homosexual..the Lord did not create us this way, it goes agains nature, and no purpose is served by practicing homosexuality...But our Father is a loving God, and believe me, with the knowledge, and love through Jesus, you can not only be forgiven, but your eyes will be opened, and you will WANT to give up the person you are now with, and you will probably want them to change also, as a Christian...go to this site, and read up and see what you think...if you do not change now, at least you will see and get your questions answered by homosexuals who also thought that they were 'born' that way,and now have committed their lives to Jesus Christ and God...try this link and best to you...I would never judge you sweetheart, as I am a sinner too...but I can pray that you will take the right path, and that your eyes are opened...God bless you and keep us all...http://www.exodus-international.org/

God can forgive you for being homosexual. However, the reason to ask forgiveness is because your tired of the sin and want to change your life. You were not born that way I don't believe because we are all born sin free until we reach the age of accountability. Being that way is a choice that you've made. You are right man was created in the image of God and in His likeness. If you know enough of the Bible to know it is unnatural and doens't fit in with His divine plan you should know you weren't born that way. Jesus still loves you and He will forgive you and He wants to forgive you. But you have to make the choice of whether to continue living the way you are living, or ask for forgiveness and change your life. You dont' HAVE to marry anyone if you don't want to. But if you ask the Lord for forgiveness and give Him your all and everything you will see the change won't be as difficult as you think it would be.

Before asking this question you should ask how clear it is that it is something that needs to be forgiven. Take a look at the following site for some of the key arguments. Some are more persuasive than others, but they are worth at least being aware of:
