I feed my girl raw pork usually once or twice a week. She has never had any problems.

Fresh pork is fine raw or cooked...never feed ham though.Ham is to fatty and too processed it also contains too much salt.
*******Bully...pork is NOT harmful if fed raw to dogs..many raw feeders feed it on a regular basis. Many feed pork necks. I have yet to see any dog ever have a problem caused by raw pork...now chinese pork, spiced pork, etc that's a whole different story******
***** There are dog & cat foods out there that do contain pork and there are also homecooked pet food recipies taht contain pork...it really amazes me the lack of knowledge concerning foods & feeding********

No, as long as it's cooked. Also, I wouldn't feed this to your dog on a regular basis as 1.) It may get into the habit of begging for scraps, and not eat regular dog food, and 2.) The excess amounts of fat in pork can lead to a biiiig dog.

Pork is not usually (if ever) used in dog or cat food because it is so hypERallergenic (known to cause a lot of allergic reactions, in humans too). I think it's best kept away from altogether, if even the pet food companies don't use it.

Yes its harmfull if you feed it raw
They can get the Aujeszky's disease from it (cats too )

I am suprised that a vet tech says it is not harmfull if feeded raw .
So if you need to feed it ...cook it well.
I also feed raw but i don't feed pork at all

yes and no
dogs can eat pork meat , and they will like it
in fact, i sometimes give my dog pork..
HOWEVER
it is not good for dogs. pork, as it tends to be high in sodium and greasy, often causes dogs to have gastric problems.
in other words... you may not want to leave your dog alone for the day if you fed him pork recently......

yes if you feed them to much of it. And also its best to feed them a ice cube size of meat. But only give it to them as a treat not as a every day meal because it is not heath for them.
