Where do psychics get their powers? I know that a lot of them say that it runs in the family and they've been gifted since birth. I know that a lot of Chrstians are against psychics... why? And also, can you be a psychic and a Christian at the same time?

1- there's two kinds of psychics
- those born with it
- those who indulge in the occult
we're against the occult, as it's basically witchcraft, the devils workmanship.

it's not possible to worship God and Satan at the same time.

you can be born with it (and not indulge in the occult) and still be a Christian. you were born with it, so why not use gifts?

I believe the Psychics power comes from demonic forces, I also believe that it may well run in families as was stated because demons transmigrate in other words they prefer to stay in family systems. Once they have a hold their choice would be to remain there. I was told once that in the Mexican culture an individual with psychic power who was near death would lay their hands on a child or infant in the family symbolic of transfering her power to the child so the practice could go on. This if accurate would be like the Christian laying of hands on an elder in the church setting them aside for service.
Christians are obviously against psychics because darkness and light cannot coexist; demons are darkness and God is light so a person could not be a psychic and be a Christian also.

This is kind of a touchy question because of the closeness in descriptions. Christians believe, at least this the way i've always been told, that psychics are a part of witchcraft. On the Christian side of it, there are prophets that when the spirit of God is moving God can show people things as a warning or a blessing or to give someone an answer to prayer. It's done in the spirit not just at any random time as one feels the need. Like I said it's really confusing to try to explain so forgive if I made you more confused that was not my intention.

1. I do believe I have some ability. I don't exaggerate it and claim to be able to see the future and talk to God and all that like Sylvia Brown does, but I do believe it's possible. I don't see why it *wouldn't* be possible, or *couldn't* be possible... Just because it doesn't work how people think it should ("Well why don't you guess the lottery numbers then?") doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

2. Christians associate it with witchcraft and the devil and such.

3. Yes, you can be both a Christian and a psychic, since you do not have to be of any religion to possess ESP and the like.

psychic ability is nothing more than heightened intuition
intuition is something we all have and is a very important part of life
to know when danger is coming , to know when our children need us
psychics simply practise and enhance this
so for anyone to say it is wrong ... is nonsense

what is wrong is using this to worry and scare people
to take away their free will with predictions

and any psychic I know , uses this with ethics and morals

the bible does not say being psychic is wrong , it warns against divination and fortune telling

and I am a non Christian psychic reader

There are Christians who have the gift of prophecy (for example, I can think of three who prophecied that New Orleans would be flooded 2 months - 2 years before Katrina hit, one prophecied it one year to the date before). We call them prophets, not psychics. Some psychics do have power, but it's not from God....

No, I don't think one can be a Christian and a psychic. The Bible speaks against psychics.

I am a fully baptized christian, and we all have the psychic gift, You just need to get your back, you had it when you was a small child ,(every one do) but you loose it over time, unless you work at it to get it back ..like i did. so yes you can be a christian and a psychic at the same time.

Christains believe that the only source of insight into the future or insight into someone's life about something we should not otherwise have knowledge about is from God. Any type of supernatural insight that we claim is from anything other than God whether it be true or not is either not supernatural and therefore a trick or it is from a demonic force - which the Bible says we should not communicate with such forces. When given insight from God it is most commonly called prophesy or just "God spoke to me and said...".

Some of your aspirations tend to be pretty unrealistic. At times you are extroverted, affable, sociable, while at other times you are introverted, wary and reserved. You have found it unwise to be too frank in revealing yourself to others. You pride yourself on being an independent thinker and do not accept others' opinions without satisfactory proof. You prefer a certain amount of change and variety, and become dissatisfied when hemmed in by restrictions and limitations. At times you have serious doubts as to whether you have made the right decision or done the right thing. Disciplined and controlled on the outside, you tend to be worrisome and insecure on the inside.

Your sexual adjustment has presented some problems for you. While you have some personality weaknesses, you are generally able to compensate for them. You have a great deal of unused capacity which you have not turned to your advantage. You have a tendency to be critical of yourself. You have a strong need for other people to like you and for them to admire you.
