Medical bills can go on your credit report. Try to work out a payment plan with them to avoid having it show on your credit report. As long as you are paying they shouldn't report it. It is usually when you do not pay them that they will show as submitted to collections on your report.

Not sure about that, but medical bills sent to a collection agency will show on your credit report. First hand knowledge.

Medical bills are one of the largest things that show up on peoples credit files.

But only after they have been sent to collections.

Pay them as quick as you can and make sure they do not go to collections and you will be fine.

Completely untrue. Medical bills are treated the same for credit reporting purposes as are any other form of debt.

I've heard that as well, but it's not true. Because.... my husband and myself have medical bills on our report... unfortunately.

However.... I've also heard that if you send them a little each month, even if it's only $5, they can't report it. Not sure if that is true though.
