The important part is the "I AM" in the sentance, not so much who said it.
Not that the man who said it is not important, but that he wanted us to recognize those words, and not praise he who said it.

Dear Joplinrd,
I makes me feel great, absolutely great!
It also inspires me to share the Good News of Jesus Christ and Him crucified with every one.
Even though ALL have sinned and fallen short of God's glory, He has provided a Way for those who accept the Way to be put back into a right Relationship with the Father.
The awesome uncreated Creator of the universe does not want even one person to be eternally separated from Him. I have especially been thinking of this as I've been listening to the news of the 2 wayward whales in California these past few weeks.
Knowing that there was only ONE way for the whales to return to where they belong, concerned people tried everything they could think to do to help them get beyond the Golden Gate Bridge.
Spirit is eternal.
Our spirit will either be eternally with the LORD
or it will be eternally separated from the LORD.
For His glory,
JOYfilled

It's a good question - and a contentious one, which has been discussed by theologians for centuries.
As One Love has said, the most important words are 'I' and 'me'. From a cosmic viewpoint - do you think there is any separation between the Buddha and the Christ? Scripturally, of course there is. Spiritually? Hah! If there were any separation between them the universe could not exist!
Instead of relying on scripture, why not check out some Christan mystics?
Master Eckhart - "The eye with which I see God is the same eye with which God sees me".
The ordinary eye sees separate beings. The mystical eye sees God at play.
The judgemental mind condemns.
The loving mind, well, loves. (See Mumof4's answer.)

You need to accept Jesus as the Messiah to have your sins forgiven by means of the ransom. Then study God's word and follow Jesus example to be a true Christian.
John 17:3 "This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and the one whom you sent forth Jesus Christ."

Re: You won't go to Heaven believing in Buddah, Mohammed, or any other false God.
Right, if you believe Christianity and John 14:6 it means that only through your acceptance of Christ will you get to heaven....the Christian heaven.
That's not to mean that there aren't other gods and other afterlifes.

I believe it is the whole truth. However, I believe there will be people from every walk of faith in Heaven. Not only will there be Catholics, but there will be Methodist, Buddhist, and others. It may sound confusing but there are people that profess different religions that also believe Jesus Christ is the risen son of God.

I feel that the scripture is grossly overused.
"If ye love me keep my commandments." (John 14:15)
"Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God." (Matt 5:8)
Buddhists, Muslims, Hindus, etc, live many of the teachings of Jesus Christ. They become pure in heart, and they also keep many of God's commandments.
I have seen much hatred from so called Christians, who obviously think more upon John 14:6 than they do upon this scripture:
"Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven." (Matt. 7:21)
I don't think the rules of salvation are as clear cut as many Christians believe.
How hard is it for a person to embrace and live all of Christ's laws? It's hard, isn't it?
Well, how hard is it for someone to choose to beleive in Christ? It's just one simple step.
Someone who has practiced and lived Christ's laws for many years (even if they did not know they were his laws) has only one little step to make to be completely accepted by the Father. But someone who has professed Christ all their days, but never done his laws, has MANY steps left to do in their progression towards God.
Leave the judgement of people's ultimate destinations up to God, because he certainly has a clearer view of people's hearts and intents than we do, and "the Lord looketh on the heart". (1 Sam. 16: 7)

Either the population of Heaven is going to be extremely sparse, or it will be divided into numerous sectors to accommodate and separate all of those Christians of conflicting sects who believe that only they have seen the light theologically and are therefore entitled to enter Heaven. As for me, seriously, I feel no attraction to Heaven since I would feel exceedingly uncomfortable there among the devout, being an irreverant skeptic. I have no fear of hellfire and damnation; if god exists, he understands me, and if he doesn't, neither do Heaven nor Hell.

I love this Bible verse and I live by it every day. Jesus is the way the only way to heaven. There are fasle prophets out there that will prove you wrong but he really is my everything and through him I know that I can help save many people. I feel bad for those who don't believe.

It makes me sad for all those that don't trust in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. I believe with all my heart that Christ is the only way to get to heaven. I hope you do too.
