Three men rent a hotel room together. The cost is $30, so each pays ten. However when they get to the room, they are disappointed with its size, so they call down to the front desk. The manager agrees to refund some of their money, and he gives the bellhop $5 to return to them. The bellhop can't figure out how to divide five dollars among three men, so he gives each man $1 and keeps $2 for himself.
So, the men have paid $27 dollars in total. The bellhop kept $2. But 27 plus 2 is only $29; what happened to the other dollar?

Nice one, trick question. There is no missing dollar, The hotel has 25, the bellhop has 2 and the men have 3.

Of the $30 the hotel keeps $25, the men keep $3 and the bellhop keeps $2.
25+3+2 equals $30.

Dead easy. Forget the $30. They have paid $9 each. That's $27 of which the hotel gets $25 and the bellhop $2/It's $27 MINUS $2 not $27 PLUS $2

You messed up, 27 is what they paid including what the bellhop took. (30-5=(25)+2=(27)+3=30).

the concern with (your issue) is that there is not any desire for 27 + 2 to equivalent 30. think of of it this way: each and each guy will pay $10, now the administrative has $30.
