i think everyone is entitled to their own opinion so it's rare that i report anyone. but, being a mother, i get concerned when i see very explicit language in a Q or A, or nudey pics for avatars and i report them immediately, because i know there are kids in here sometimes.

i find many people (often the believers) seem to report things that are against their religion, even if the Q or A is legit and respectful. i often wonder who has the final say as to whether the violation gets sent out, and if your account gets deleted, and how they make that judgement

what do you report, if anything?

Graciela - there is such a thing as protecting children. you have to find a balance between them

Acid Zebra - actually my kids go to nudey beaches often, i should clarify that most nudey pics on here are of an extremely sexual nature, i think you know what i mean, and that's what i report

Emfederin - yes, i realize it's often kids posting that stuff, but that doesn't mean it should be exposed to other kids!

I'll report, like you said, very explicit language and nudey pics for avatars.

Heck if I reported everybody that disagreed with me I'd be here all day just reporting people. lol

So I dont' care if they disagree with me, I just like for people to be half way polite.

I very rarely report anything. I'm not easily offended. Usually if I report someone, its a clone or someone who is launching personal attacks against a regular here. That's just ridiculous and it ruins things for everyone.

I used to think that Yahoo deleted everything that was reported, but I don't think this is true anymore. I guess its up to the discretion of the "violations team" as to what gets deleted. I know that accumulating a certain amount of violations will result in your account being deleted, but I don't know how many. Considering I've received 4 violation notices this weekend, maybe I should look into that.

Nothing - I might be sarcastic and pointed in my answers, or I might just pass on by. Closest I've been is WSIDR - I have a lot of friends with low IQ's and it sucks that people use 'retard' in the same way that people have used other words abusively through time. My whining won't change that though - so I'll just have to settle for educating when I can.

I report stalkers, spammers, and those with sexually explicit avatars.. AZ may not understand, but when he has children, he will. There are certain avatars that children just don't need to see at young ages.

Honestly, the spammers and stalkers have to get really annoying for me to hit that report abuse button.
I certainly do NOT report people with whose answers I simply disagree, no matter how vitriolic.

Pretty much the same things that you do. I've been reported for lots of dumb stuff, and I've had questions and answers removed with no explanation whatsoever. My very first violation was for simply stating that I never had a violation (this was apparently "not a question or an answer").

I have only used it a couple of times, and it was always because of avatars. Personal opinions is why we are here, and I don't get too upset when someone calls me a moron or belittles my belief.

People who do and use the report button are just week and have a very fragile belief system. It usually indicates that they don't know why they believe what they do, and can't handle tough questions, or think that their God is too weak to handle criticism.

people have right to their own opinion be it good or bad! Some may say things that are offensive, and of a graphic nature..but if one has lived in this world any length of time it does not move you....You say you are one of the Q and A police...that children look at this site often and you want to protect them....you have good intentions, but just like that they are exposed to everything...the world is changing and man is leaning to sin and worse at a young age,his heart is getting harder and harder. Yet he still gets curious about a great creator God saying what if? There are children that have immortals much worse than any man or woman can think of.Some are just too young to act on it,yet they are urged to do it,until they are old enough to get it done....that is why creation moans and groans in anticipation. We report things that against God's word, not against ones religion, you could be wrong in what one was taught! pray for those that despitefully use you and say all manor of evil against you for Christ sake....God does the changing, man can not....

The only thing I've reported was someone who had this porno picture in his avatar (which I guess was a mistake, he changed it later) for the same reasons you do. Other than that I've reported racist stuff. Disagreeing with my religious beliefs isn't something I'd report, this isn't an all-christian forum so I think that's to be expected.

I report questions that are clearly not questions. Like when a Muslim comes by and just copy & pastes some article from the web, then leaves, like a seagul "dropping" something by. It's one thing when somebody defends their position or challenges a question, but outright "Soap box" posts go against the guidelines.

I report bigotry, like saying all Muslims are terrorists or a fundie who's majorly homophobic, but I don't report things I just disagree with. I ocasionally report for language, but usually it's not too bad on here or they bleep things out when they type it.
