I have Fibro, Rheumatoid Arthritis and a few blown discs, was having a EMG yesterday. First my advise go to a shop and lay on the beds. You need one that 'supports' every part of your body, but you do not want to sink into it. So the test I used, the curve in my spine. I laid on the bed and then tried to force my hands under my spine. If they went through, no good, not supporting. If they failed to go through, no good to soft. If they went half way under, BINGO. Then I invested in a mattress overlay, egg-crate shape and that was it. This way I only have to change the overlay every two years and not the mattress or bed.

I bought the Sleep Number Bed from Select Comfort and have had much success! I'm a nursing student, have no money, but financed it on the credit card they offer. We paid 2,000 for a queen sized model. My payments are around 55 dollars a month. I'm telling you--it is the only bill I actually don't mind paying!!
In my opinion, EVERYTHING they say in the commercial is true! I too have chronic back pain and the bed alleviates it. I sleep soundly, have no problems getting to sleep, and feel good in the morning. It feels like you are sleeping on a cloud. I tried the Tempurpedic (or however you spell it) mattress in the store and hated it. I actually couldn't get out of the damn thing.
I know the average person doesn't have an extra 2 grand, but if you do, or if you can get financed, I would highly recommend it. They even give you some kind of trial period in case you don't like it.

Hi, I don't have Fibromyalgia, but i do have CFS, we bought a memory foam matress, ours is Miracoil sprung with the top 6 inches being memory foam, and i have to say that it's the best thing we've spent money on! The miracoil stops roll together and gives good support, whilst the memory foam moulds to your shape, supports you and evenly spreads your weight removing pressure points.
When we went on holiday i really noticed the difference with my pain being much increased so i was unable to sleep due to it, nightmare and kind of spoiled the hoilday rest!!
I hope this helps you,
Blessings
Claire

I hated my mattress, always woke up stiff and sore, esp in my lower back. I couldn't afford a new mattress so I went to Target and god one of those memory foam mattress toppers on sale for 50$ and it was the best investment I ever made. You don't have to buy the expensive temperdic brand, just a memory foam.
