She has been acting different for the past few days. She is sleepy and kind of whobbly when she walks. She hesitates to jump on things and if she does, sometimes she misses. She is eating but sits there in front of her food and really thinks about it first. When she does decide she wants to eat she brings her head down VERY slowly and and keeps her face in it for a second and then eats as if nothing was wrong with her. She is about 5 months old and has not yet gone to the vet. She and her brother (who is fine) are going this week.

OK, reading these symptoms I thought your cat was displaying signs of senility (yes, animals get it too) - but then I read she's only 5 months old, so probably not!

Being sleepy and wobbly does not sound like a particularly good thing, I personally would want to have it checked out. Fortunately for you, your cat is just at the right age to be spayed, so get her booked in - the vet will check her over first of course so you can talk to him about this then. If she's ill then of course she won't be spayed yet, if not then you've got her booked in for the op. Two birds, one stone!

If she starts exhibiting any other symptoms like extreme incoordination, not eating, vomiting, diarrhoea, collapse, lethargy - don't wait to get her to a vet.

I would get her to a vet at some point this week even if you can't get her booked in for a spay, cats aren't generally this uncoordinated - phone TODAY to get professional advice as to whether they think the cat needs to be seen right away.

This sounds like it is an abscess, and it has burst. Abscesses cause infections, so this could be the reason your cat is being 'lazy'. It's a bit like us with a cold or flu we don't want to do anything except lie in bed. When an abscess bursts most of the pus comes out and it can look pretty horrible and can bleed a lot and a cat will automatically start cleaning the area. If it remains very red, bleeding and they pusing won't stop take him to a vet asap. In the meantime the best thing you can do is bathe the area at least 3 times a day with warm salty water using a cotton swab. It might be advisable to have a look to see if there is a foreign object in the wound as this is one of the reasons why abscesses start. Hope he will be OK. Just keep bathing it.

You need to get your cat to the vet now, not later this week. She sounds as if she has had a stroke or is having some dangerous circulatory problems.

I currently have one cat as part of my fur family who had an allergic reaction to a household cleaner (airborne) and had a stroke, which affected her ability to walk, caused severe liver damage, and she became temporarily blind because of it.

She may have ingested something which is causing these problems, and you need to get her help right away. My cat was exhibiting a lot of the same symptoms, but we took her to the vet within a day of noticing the problems, and she has recovered now, but has some residual problems because of it.

You actually should have taken both of your cats to the vet for exams and shots as soon as you adopted them. Please call your vet, and go now.

She needs a vet now, not later in the week. The wobbling and hesitating is very serious, especially in a young cat.

That sounds to me like vision problems, but it could be something really serious. Best take her to the vet ASAP.
