It has been three days since she has eaten. I have bought several different kinds of cat food and she still refuses. I have tried giving her human food. She acts hungry and meows around my feet when I am cooking but I try to give her something and she just sniffs it and walks off. I am at my witts end with her. Any suggestions?

I forgot to say that my hubby is a vet and found nothing wrong with her. She is a very well cared for evil tempered little demon and I love her dearly.

I think my cat is okay. She just ate a whole can of tuna. I think the problem is she's spoiled.

She may be having trouble with her kidneys so if it's been 3 days I would take her to see the vet as soon as possible. Over time a cat's kidneys lose function and special food may be necessary to slow down the progression of kidney failure. Or she could possibly have swallowed something, even her own hair and not be able to digest her food.
In either case, you should see a vet. Best of luck!

I owned a White Long haired Calico female car for 16 years. She went through the no eating or drinking also. Her digestive tract was plugged and she was unable to take food into herself. and she had stopped peeing. I rushed her [ did not wait any 3 days - did not want her to die on me ] and the vet was able to clear the tract and she was fine again. But he warned me this could happen again because of her age. Her body parts where starting to shut down. So after about 6 months it did happen again and this time I out her out of her pain and had her put down.
No animal should be allowed to suffer like that

At 14 it could be lots of things. If she is hungry but can't eat, it could indicate nausea or she could have a mouth infection or bad tooth. Cats will stop eating with other illnesses as well. You really need a vet visit. Cats that don't eat for a few days are at risk for developing hepatic lipidosis--a serious liver condition.
