When a Christian practices yoga, they are participating in an eastern mystical religious practice.
Even their own literature agrees with this. In the attached link, they even talk about a serpent, and higher consciousness. These are demonic manifestations, and you would be inviting them in your life.
Why would a Christian even consider this? There are those who say that you can separate the exercise component from the mystical, but that is another lie of the enemy.
A Christian should flee from this, so they don't become a victim of the lie. If Satan cannot have your soul, he will have your walk if you let him. And eastern meditation is one sure fire way to do that.
Paul even says, "You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons. You cannot eat at the table of the Lord and at the table of demons. Are we trying to provoke the Lord to jealousy? We are not stronger than he is, are we?" (I Corinthians 10:21-22)
And
"What harmony exists between Christ and Beliar, or what do a believer and an unbeliever have in common?" (II Corinthians 6:15)
For those who claim to be Christ's, yet say that yoga is permissible, hear Jesus' words: "Why do you keep calling me 'Lord, Lord,' but don't do what I tell you?" (Luke 6:46)
Christ is the Living Word of God. His Word tells us what we should do. Those who choose their will over His, are disobedient.

I've never been able to figure that out. I don't do yoga, but I'm a Christian and I don't have a problem with people who do yoga. If it's because meditation is involved, can't yoga loving Christians can meditate on scripture?

Many Christians have a misunderstanding of what meditation is - it is not to empty the mind, it is to focus it. The most basic meditation technique is to simply count your breaths. You aren't emptying your mind of your beliefs, all you are doing is focusing on one action (counting) so you can stop listening to the to do list, worries about your coworkers, etc.
Catholic priests medidate all the time, it's part of how they practice their religion.
If a Christian took a yoga class where there is a short meditation, they could simply choose to focus their thoughts on Jesus.

Yoga originated with a blatantly anti-Christian philosophy, and that philosophy has not changed. It teaches one to focus on oneself instead of on the one true God. It encourages its participants to seek the answers to life's difficult questions within their own conscience instead of in the Word of God.
The question becomes, is it possible for a Christian to isolate the physical aspects of yoga as simply a method of exercise, without incorporating the spirituality or philosophy behind it?

Yoga originated in Hinduism as an aid for reaching Nirvana. That's probably why but it doesn't explain any objection to secular yoga.

Yoga is a buddhist concept as far as I know. Maybe that's why they say is not good for christian. In yoga, people are trying to achieve nirvana or It is a mode of being that is free from mind-contaminants (Kilesa) such as lust, anger or craving; a state of pure consciousness and bliss unobstructed by psychological conditioning (sankhara). All passions and emotions are transformed and pacified such that one is no longer subject to human suffering.

Yoga is a form of exercise, but some use it as part of a philosphy that includes a type of meditation; because it comes from India leans towards Hinduism. However you can meditate on God and not the nothingness they use as the example.
