It sounds like the problem is with your home computer's web browser. Try clearing the cash and cookies. Then visit the url from the camera website again. Watch for the yellow toolbar at the top of the browser window saying "windows has blocked xxx". Right-click on it and hit "allow". You will also be prompted with several "Yes or No" windows saying "install this?". Say yes.

If this doesn't work, try lowering your browser's security settings (risky). This setting is under IE -> Tools -> Internet Options. If all else fails, contact the web camera support. It may actually be a problem with the ActiveX control OR a obscure checkbox hidden under Internet explorer's Tools -> Internet Options -> Advanced tab.

You are obviously dealing with some tough crowd, because you violate one of the most important rules in any business: that is, to trust that your employees will do the best job they can. If you don't trust them, I am not sure any amount of cameras is going to help you. In any case, streaming video requires some serious bandwidth, and having special wires to your home is going to be very expensive. As another responder said, you will need something based on IP. If you stick with DSL, that does not give you much bandwidth, so the quality and resolution will be pretty basic. The best solution would be to hire someone you really trust. If you do need cameras, go to a professional security service.
