Technically the shoes that are going to provide the most comfort and support are those butt-ugly orthopedic shoes like the Church Lady wears. But I am assuming that you might also want to look good while standing on your feet, so you're going to want to wear an athletic shoe like Pumas that are sort of low to the ground, but still padded and contoured to your feet. And you're right, Converse don't feel good when you stand in them for a long time because they're totally flat and offer no arch support.

Try the Croc shoes! My husband bought me a pair and they are the most comfortable pair of shoes that I own! I also have a friend who is a RN, she wears them to work because she is on her feet all day!

in my opinion i admire trucks, yet you're able to not be allowed to placed on those! my mum (age 38) offered a pair of in effective condition-flops, she stated they have been soooo properly certainly worth the money&she loves them, they arrive in deifferent designs/diverse colorings! she stated they experience so gentle, and could stand all day in those shoes! desire i helped!xx
