I have read that if a person actually gets tired instead of really wired from caffeine, that this might imply that they have ADHD. When I drink too much, this happens.. but when I drink 1/2 a cup of TEA (which is 1/2 the caffeine of cup of coffee) I am pretty normal although I'm not sure that this amount really helps me concentrate all the more... but I could be wrong.

I do have many of the other symptoms of ADHD... daydream a lot, hard to focus for long periods of time, like novel stimulation, and more that I don't have time to list here. Because of this, I might go on Aderall or something simmilar, but want to make sure it would work.

You never can be certain any med will work; people react differently - that is why there are so many anti-depression meds. I also get tired if I OD on coffee because it kicks in and then tolerance sets in. You really need to consult a mental health professional. The stuff one can read on the web is sometimes so scary that all of us could believe we have a mental illness.

Good Luck

you don't necessarily have adhd. caffeine can bring you down if you drink too much, and it can make you even more tired than usual when you are not drinking it. ie. it makes you unnaturally tired because your body is craving it to feel awake. don't take medication for adhd, please, it's bad news. a little coffee is ok. tea is ok. but if you have trouble concentrating, all i can say is practice, practice, practice. learn to get a handle on it. don't take any medication! there are so many bad side effects.

Yes, if drinking coffee seems to slow you down that could well mean that you have ADD and would probably benifit from taking ritalin.
