I am getting married next year sometime and we were trying to think of some nontraditional ways to get married that would be fun. We will only have a 1-4 people coming along with us. One idea we had was getting married underwater (or maybe even skydiving). Can you think of any other good, fun ideas?

My friend got married in a hot air balloon. When they landed, they had a small reception with champagne and a little cake right there in the field. I think it is relatively inexpensive (especially when you compare it to a regular wedding). The pictures were gorgeous!

Going up in a hot-air balloon and exchanging vows as the sun sets.
Drive-thru wedding chapel in Las Vegas.
Horseback wedding, where you sort of trot down the aisle on a horse and your groom and attendants are on horses too.
Dress-up theme wedding (like you can dress up as characters from your favorite movie or TV show)
Renaissance Wedding: Many cities have Renaissance fairs during the summer, and the one we have here in Denver hosts Renaissance weddings for people, where they get to wear Renaissance clothing and get married with Olde English vows, etc.
The Venetian hotel in Vegas does a lovely wedding ceremony where the bride and groom get taken around on a gondola afterwards.

How about during a half-time cermeony of a football game? Or go to Disneyworld and have Mickey sign off as a witness? Or on a first class trip to Hawaii or another destination. Bungee jump together or go to Vegas and have it atop the Eiffel Tower at Paris Casino. Hoover Dam...get married in more than one state!

Friends of mine got married at the base of a water fall in a Fjord. It was a 2 day hike in and a 3 day hike out.
Both their parents and siblings and the priest (who was an uncle) did the trek with them. The pictures are GORGEOUS and it fits the two of them. After they got back, they had a BBQ in the back yard as a reception for the rest of the friends and family.
