What foods/drinks help to get rid of coldsores, I've just got my very very first coldsore (neve had one in my whole life) and now suddenly just before the date I've been waiting for for ages, a fat one right on my lip. I've been putting Zovirax on for 4 days but it just seems to be making it redder and more crusty. What else can I do? Any help appreciated. Thanks :)

Fever blisters usually last for about 7-10 days. Abreva is an over the counter medicine you can use that helps shorten healing time by 1/2 but you need to start using it as soon as you feel the tingle before the actual cold sore appears. Once they get the yellowish crust they will usually go away in about 5 or 6 days.

you've never had a cold sore before? Herpes never goes away. Stress can keep any medicine from working right. Stress can also cause the sores to appear
