I'm underweight and trying to gain, but I have a problem. On a high carb diet I lose weight, on a low carb diet I gain weight, and on a moderate carb diet I feel sick..what gives?

It depends on what you are trying to do, what is your age, weight and hiegth now. Glanced at some other of your answers and guess you are still in high school. It is common to be under weight at times because you will hit growth spurts and your weight will have to catch up to your heigth. Being under weight at a younger age is really nothing to be concerned about.

You should eat healthy, a good balanced diet is the best you can do. If it is mucle you are looking at, there are weight gain drinks out there. Be ready though, they pack in protien and bulk and will give you so much energy you will be bouncing off the walls (or at least they do that to me). But be careful not to pack too much on if you are younger, that stuff will catch up in a big way when you hit 22 or so.

don't follow carbs. eat protein. i really recommend foods high in protein, like peanut butter, nuts. also protein powder. i would also recommend a doctor or nutritionist.

Why not just eat what you want and increase your caloric intake.
