It seems to me - that most of the wealthy people I know are very well organized - and their homes are always nice and neat. Maybe it's because they can afford a maid - or whatever - but my thought is that rich people are very seldom slobs. Do you know any rich slobs?

I do in fact know of a rather eccentric lady who's life is wrapped in millions of dollars (Old real estate money) and has a filthy home. I would suggest that some of the slobs you see around town who look to be poor, might in fact be quite well off financially. It is a sort of pathetic irony.

In the case of this woman I know. She never so much as had to turn her own coverlet down. She never dressed herself or prepared her own meals while growing up.

Now that most of her family has passed on and she is settled somewhere on her own, collecting checks every day from real estate investments passed down to her, she simply doesn't think to wipe the counters down after preparing a meal for herself. Her speckled granite counter tops hide most of the stuck on food anyway. haha

As far as servants? She considers herself to be a "simpleton" and in her rebellion against all her family drama while growing up, she tries very much to lead a life as a 'commoner.' I suppose she does, right down to the crusty. moldy dog food that covers her baseboards in her kitchen where she feeds her dogs every morning.

Yes, rich kids are slobs because they have everything done by their parent's maids. So when they move out and do not have maids, their houses/apts will be like pigs pen.

Yes I know this person who inherited over three million dollars, and still lives is is forty year old trailer, with over ten junk cars and old appliances all around him. He is single and wears nothing but jeans and cut off jeans for shorts. He burns his garbage and just seems to ignore all aspects of personal hygiene, with the exception being that he does bath everyday and when he goes out into the public he does appear neat. But, at home he is the example of examples of I don't care and just lives to live. His trailer is cluttered and he has old furniture and just drinks beer and orders a lot of pizza. Just goes to show that money doesn't make the man.

I thibk you have to define "slob". There is "messy and disorganized" and there is also "dog poop in the living room and moldy food growing under the sofa cushions.

I am the first. Messy. I actually can't believe that people spend so much time cleaning everything around them.

I am a firm believer in the "A house should be clean enough to be healthy and dirty enough to be happy."
