Her parents are morons. The first woman was created from a rib, she wasn't a rib. Even if she was a rib, she is a living being and it would never be okay for her husband to beat her. also, you don't go to hell for associating with someone who is going there. If this woman's parents did indeed read their Bibles, they would see that Jesus associated with all kinds of sinners. I'm pretty sure Jesus didn't go to hell. I feel sorry for this poor woman. Nobody should be treated that way by her parents who are supposed to love her.

Now, in some things, there is no right or wrong answer, but it's clear that these people are TOTALLY FREAKIN INSANE. I mean, parents normally support their child in marital disputes, especially something as serious as this, what they said is just terrible. I'm surprised, if they're so old-fashioned and ultraconservative, why the Dad didn't go round the husband's house with a blowtorch and pliers. Seriously though, I think the phrase "they could have been more supportive" is an understatement here, they couldn't have been less supportive.
Then to not talk to her for ten years... she's probably better off without them, tbh. Maybe the religion thing was just a coverup for some other unspoken issues, but probably they're just crazy. Though I'm an evil progressive feminist liberal atheist :), I'd say they've got their religion wrong; I think the Bible says that man rule over their wives like God rules the Church, but that part of that is they should also cherish and protect their wives. Theirs a sexual fetish called Taken in Hand for women who find such a setup attractive, which can involve spanking/discipline, but supposedly its a mature responsibility for the man, not something to unleash his frustrations on.

That's what religion does to some people who become ignorant to the fact that the bible is only a book and not a life.
It was written by men for men and not for women in a time when men thought they were reincarnated directly from God.
Where does it say in the Bible that the Pope is the leader of a specific religion for the entire world.

No its not! the bible intructed the husband or the man how to treat thier wives and the women;
Ephesians 5:28"In this way husband ought to be loving to thier wives as thier own bodies. He who love his wife love his self.
Ephesians 5;32"Wife should have deep respect for his Husband".
1 Corinthians 7:10,11"To the maried people I give instruction, yet not I but the Lord, that a wife should not depart from her husband, but if she should actually depart (Because her life , health is in danger) let her remain un maried or else make up again with her husband; and a husband should not leave his wife".

There's no excuse for violence. If they're really going to quote the bible and Jesus and such, consider Eph 5:25-33, Colossians 3:19, 1 Peter 3:7

Ok, I'm glad you added that last comment because I was gonna lay it on u for not knowing the Arabic text and being Saudi, lol! The translation is not correct, and I know that there are lots of translators who use the same word, but it's still incorrect. Now that you're in Saudia insha'Allah you can learn Arabic for yourself and finally know without having others tell you what it says. Try this link, it explains a lot! Btw: Admonish means to warn someone with a good manner, not to not speak to them.

Whilst marriage is sacred and sticking to ones mate should be promoted there are many principles found in the bible which we can look to for guidance.
1. The bible says '' husbands continue loving your wifes as your own bodies''. Waht man would beat himself? or his other half ?
2. Sounds like to me , the husband beating is so widespread in their culture that it is accepted . however by not treating their wife as a lesser vessel with care ,consideration and loving kindness the man will be judged severly by god.
3. As a wise man once said , ( and i am joking ), 'you cannot hit a woman. not even if she deserves it.
4. the are sad minks who have no teeth and less morals

They are both right and wrong.
They are wrong in that Eve was just a rib. God made Eve from Adam, so that she could be a helpmeet (Partner) for him. She was to be his equal in all things.
They are wrong that a woman's lot in life is to be beaten. A woman is to be loved, honored, and cherished. (Wedding vows, folks.) From my perspective, woman is the better half of man. She is the creator (Men can't give birth,) the nourisher (She cooks, cleans, and takes care of the children,) the comforter (Who takes care of you when you are sick,) and the busiest person in the world. (In addition to the above, she works outside the house too.)
As for whether or not she burns in hell, that may be a pecularity of the Catholic Faith. I personally do not believe that god would punish her for trying to save her own life.

I am a Catholic and her parent's views were very extreme. I don't believe that women are just a rib of Adam and therefore free for beatings from men. Any Catholic who claims that is no Catholic at all. Are they suggesting that Blessed Mary, ever virgin could have been beaten rightfully by any man simply because she was a woman? I think not.
