Maybe it isn't just a case of believers and non believers, but case of very similar souls learning their lessons here on earth and the 2nd coming means that you awaken spiritually? Not awaken as in believing or having faith, but actually awakening spiritually so that you know the truth and don't just believe in someone else's truth or someone else's story of what the truth is?

A voice of reason, in the midst of babbling idiots, thank you. Do you realize that your concept renders 'End Times Theology' mute? I suspect the book of Revelation is a syllabus, for that awakening. It's not an exciting, or romantic way of looking at the book, but it works. Return to your first love...if you have ears to hear.

No, the Second Coming you refer to takes place at the END of the Tribulation period at which time Jesus returns with "a great cloud of witnesses" to Armageddon, stamps out the last of the rebellion, resets the planet's ecology, and establishes the Millennial Kingdom. NOW is the time to "awaken" spiritually out of sleep, for the time is at hand! I do realize that interpretation is debatable from denomination to denomination, but considering that what is described in Revelation as happening at that time is quite literal, I don't see how there could be any alliteration to an "awakening" of any sort! God urges mankind all throughout the Tribulation to awaken through the ministry of the 144,000 witnesses he ordains, and these are generally seen as our last hope.

I'm Jewish, and we don't have such a thing as a 2nd coming. Never have. It's purely a Christian invention. In Judaism, the Messiah comes ONCE, does the job he is supposed to do, completely, and he isn't killed to be some virgin HUMAN blood sacrifice for sin for the world, either. He is born of a married Jewish man and woman in the usual way, grows up, becomes King of Israel, serves on the Throne for a very long time, marries, has children to whom he leaves an inheritance, etc. AND he fulfills the prophecies DURING HIS LIFETIME, or he is simply not the messiah. There is no 2nd coming, this is a Christian invention to explain away why their virgin human blood sacrifice for sin never came back when he said he would, and never fulfilled the prophecies, either. No more illness, no more war, all the Jews ingathered to Israel, Universal Knowledge of God throughout the world so that no man need debate another over it, etc. There are only about 16 original actual prophecies for the Messiah to fulfill, not the hundreds and hundreds that Christians have back-engineered into it. Jesus didn't fulfill any of them, and furthermore he was killed (actually there is no evidence, no writings, whatsoever anywhere in the world from that time indicating that such a man even existed. 3/4 of the Jews lived outside of Israel at that time and never heard of him.)

If you want to find out more about the ORIGINAL prophecies concerning the Messiah, who he is, what he will do, how he is born, how he lives, etc. then go find out from the Jews who were given the information from GOD DIRECTLY, and are NOT blind, as the Christians say, but adhere even to this day to what GOD HIMSELF gave them on Mt. Sinai. It's very convenient to say, when trying to killi off a previous religion and replace it with your own, that the previous occupants are "blind", isn't it.

Awaken my fellow brother, for the Light illuminates your being... and it is Good! *wink*

Great Question! The real answer can only, ever, be found within yourself, but I can certainly say that I hold the belief that you are on the right track! =)

"Kingdom Theology" takes that interpretation. They believe that the "Second Coming" will actually be the manifestation of the "Sons of God" . . . perfected believers achieving physical immortality in conjunction with the Jewish Feast of Tabernacles.

Don't think so....you'd better learn the Scriptures:

" When the Son of man shall come in his glory ,...he shall set the sheep on his right hand and the goats on his left; then shall the King say unto the sheep, "Come ye who are blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundations of the world. Then shall the Kings say uno the goats on the left; " Depart from me, you who are cursed, into everlastng fire prepared for the devil and his angel". - Jesus (Matt. 25:31-41)

I never thought of it that way, but it's an interesting interpretation of that section of the Bible.
