I think it was a last minute deal. John drives mostly NASCAR now. He's Mario's twin brother Aldo's son, thus he's Michael's cousin.

John is Michael's cousin, Mario Andretti (Michael's Dad) has a brother named Aldo , John is the son of Aldo. As for why he is not in a ride at AGR John moved to NC some years back to try NASCAR where he has driven for Richard Petty and Cale Yarborough and a few others. In fact John will drive for Petty Enterprises again later this summer in the 45 car while Kyle Petty steps away to fulfill a TV commitment. I also believe that John went the stock car route to escape the shadows of Michael and Mario. Michael Andretti does however have a brother named Jeff who has raced in the IRL in the past.

John Andretti needs to be in Indy Cars full time. Because Nascab is a bore !! And a Andretti belongs in the Indy Car Series not Neckcar !

John is Michael's cousin and he had a last minute deal with the team. The sponsor campingworld.com was his busch sponsor last year thats why he had a ride.

John is Michael's first cousin.Mario's brother,Aldo's, son.He doesn't drive for AGR because he isn't a very good driver.
