Are there any consumer MiniDV players?

Question

Looking for an Inexpensive MiniDV player.
Easier than constantly hooking up the camcorder,
since some plugs are hard to get to.
Have seen Pro versions that cost an arm and leg.
Would like a simple one, but will settle for a combo unit.

There are consumer players, but they are rare in the USA. I bought a Japanese market one, dual deck with S-VHS. I also have a Sony Walkman like mentioned above, but a model that was less expensive than what they sell now.

both gray market and walkmans should be available on eBay if you are willing to try a used device.

Sony makes one called the GVD-1000, but you'll still spend about $1000 on it... not worth it. Buy another camera for a few hundred and leave it hooked up.
