Our friends and family are there to protect not only this country from terrorism but to protect all Nations from these senseless acts of terrorism. Saddam is a prime example of why we are there. We have the Geneva Convention for a reason and those who break that agreement and commit war crimes we will be there. Has it ever occured to those of other countries when they have either natural disasters or are in need of help from the terrorist the US military and the Red Cross along with many other civilian volunteers are there right by your side fight to save the lives of your loved ones or are there fighting for your right to live in a country of peace. And they do it because they love this wonderful country of ours. And if you think it is because of the pay believe me they don't get paid enough for putting their lives in harms way for people they don't even know. They are the last to take the spot light to take credit for the effort instead they give the credit to their brothers and sisters who have lost their lives defending freedom and peace. And of course they miss their families but they have a job to do. And they are making sure they do every thing they can to prevent another 9-11. I have family in New York and it was by God's Grace and a circumstance of fate that kept them from harms way that aweful day. We are a great Nation, but we got to be such a great Nation because of the sacrifices and the blood shed of our fathers and forefathers were willing to give.

I want to go to Iraq to support our Troops who are trying to assist your country in becoming able to protect its self from out side influences. I was glad to see Saddam removed then tried by his countrymen then hung for his crimes against his people. We have a moral obligation to support the new Iraqi Gov. until such time as it can defend it's self from all who try and take over.

Please Support Our Troops and Civilian Contractors

These People have a job to do and are doing so with as Much Dignity, Morality, Honor, Duty and Self Sacrifice as they can Muster

Believe me, the military is not there for the money. They are there for the well being of the Iraqi people. They believe in their mission. The civilians I'm sure do it for the money. Let's face it, Iraq is not a highly desirable tourist stop right now.

We are in Iraq for the same reason we were in Vietnam and Korea. Someone high up in our government decided that it was in the best interests of the United States. As military, we do as we are told. It is in the best interests of the United States to have a stable Iraq, free from a dictatorship and able to decide its own future, not be being told but by having the people decide for themselves in a dialog with their government. We do it for you, so that you will have a future outside a dictator.

Thank you for caring. It means alot. We arent there to hurt you. Bush is the greedy one who assume he is speaking for America. Troops are just doing what they are told--but dont think for a second that at least 1 onf them cant sleep at night.

why do kids go to Iraq to die?

The United States military is made up of the working class poor people of this country. The recruiters promise them:
-world travel
-a signing bonus of 10-20 thousand dollars.
-a free college education

And most importantly, the recruiters promise them that they will never EVER see combat in Iraq. They lie, because a recruiters job is to LIE.

The Army and Marines is made up of impressionable young kids who signed up when they were 17,18, or 19 years old.

And notice that alot of people wont like this answer. They'll give it the thumbs down because they are BLIND. Well, the truth hurts people. Recruiters don't thrive in rich neighborhoods. They all prey on kids from the middle of nowhere country towns, and the kids from the inner city ghettos.
