I'll say my main joy in atheism is being able to form my own opinions without wondering if the sky god is going to give me a noogie.

Being able to appreciate the wonder of the world as even more wonderful because it really shouldn't have happened the way it did. Being conscious enough to realize this. Being free to take responsibility for my own actions and decisions instead of having a get-out clause against every failing or success I have. Being able to reflect and revise my ideas as I get older without hoping they'll constantly fit against a template cast thousands of years ago.

Being alive.

Well, they're needn't be any for it to be correct. But some may take joy in knowing their beliefs are close to the truth. Some may take joy in the responsibility and awe at being in charge of their own life, and being able to affect others. The idea of an afterlife can muck up our appreciation of this one.

If you are and atheist..... why wonder if the sky God? Remember you do not believe in any God...there is only one and he controls your life. I am made perfect in my weakness,if I sin he forgives me. If I have an opinion, and I go the wrong way his spirit redirects me.....The Bible says man plans his way but God directs his steps. You are his creation as will and just by you breathing his blessings daily ,you are part of him, whither you like it or not...we all have an opinion of our own, and he grates us that. But the devil is a liar...he will fulfill your purpose in life. You do not know him now,but one day you will. There are lots of Joys in life, but and opinion and what one thinks is not always joyful......

Being able to think for myself, to formulate my own ideas and conclusions about things without having them spoon-fed to me by the clergy. Not having to subscribe to arbitrary rules of behavior and someone else's idea of morality. Being able to use my imagination without limit and being free to think about anything I want without fear of celestial reprisal of some sort.
I love being an atheist because I love freedom.

being asked how i have morals even though i'm a Buddhist (atheist) and Buddhism is half a millenium older than christianity :P lol kidding

well i agree with what you had to say but i believe in karma....i love the fact that i believe anything only if there's sufficient evidence for me to believe in it...i'm not obliged to believe otherwise

for those who wonder,Buddhism is not theistic.

I would just like to thank all the atheists for the free and willing advertising of Jesus Christ and God. No matter what you think of Him you're still keeping his name in the forefront. Yes, some will go your way but many will eventually come to Christ. Thanks again. Keep up the good work.
