How about it, what does everyone think?

I think they have the potential and the financial backing to be a powerhouse... they just have to get the people.
If they can land Dale Jr, then they will be going a long way toward bringing some real talented people into the business. Not just drivers, but engineers, crews, etc.
They will need another key full time driver though... Mark Martin would be great, but I doubt he will go back full time. Biffle and Newman may be looking for 2009.
So we will see.

No they dont have a chance. The only driver they have that is worth anything is Mark Martin and he only drives part-time. Regan Smith isnt any good in the Busch Series so he wont do anything in the cup series. Joe Nemechek isnt even a has been he is a never been and Sterling Marlin is washed up. The only time they do good is when Mark Martin drives. Hendrick has 3 cars every week that can win while Ginn only has 1 part-time. You are also dreaming if you think Jr would go to Ginn racing, he is going to RCR where he will make Theresa sorry for not giving him 51% of DEI.

First off, I'm tired of hearing, "Ginn just needs bettter drivers," or "The only good driver they have is Mark Martin," or "Without Mark Martin they wouldn't be anything,"

They've had the drivers, just never the luck. Look at Sterling for example. He has been headed towards numerous top-ten+ finishes this year, but bad luck and bad circumstances has caused him to suffer. Last week he had a great car but got caught up in a wreck, and there have been MANY more races with similar circumstances.

Sorry, I just get defensive about my driver, but don't we all ;)

Anyway, I think that in a few years when Ginn matures they will be a force to reckon with. However, they currently lease equipment, and they aren't allowed to really touch their engines that they lease from Hendrick, so I think in order for them to be the next big name they have to get their own engine program. But they're so far going in the right direction, they just need some good luck to back it up!

No, they don't have the drivers, and they won't get Jr. I think Jr would rather start a Cup team with JR Motorsports then to go with Ginn. Ginn does not have what it takes to win a championship next year. Jr wants to win races and be a strong contender for the Cup Championship if he can not win it. Ginn would need to be attracting other drivers to bring Jr in. Ginn Racing has alot to do to be the next Hendricks.

no ginn is a sattelite team of hendricks he gets his motors and chasis from hendricks until he can build his own cars and motors he will not contend with them although he will get better when jr. starts to drive for him

Don't they lease most of their equipment from hendrick?? Leasing engines and chassis from a powerhouse and creating your own powerhouse product is two different things! They have a LONG way to go...

If money wins races, then I am sure they will be someone to contend with soon.
