I was 19 dating a 23 year old and three years later we got married and have been married happily ever since... consider both of your maturity levels and whether you work as people because the age difference is not really that significant at that age. It would be different if you were 14 and he was 19... because there is a wide gap in maturity. Do what you think is right and be careful as you would with anyone!

My friend dated a 26 year old...but to be honest, that was very uncomfortable for me and the rest of her friends; we also thought he was a bit sleezy for wanting to be in a relationship with an 18 year old who was just starting college. The important thing to remember is that you are probably at different stages in your life, so it might not work out...23 isn't so old for an 18 year old, but you'll have to set whatever boundaries are involved in this decision.

If you like the guy and he has no problem with the age gap, then there shouldn't be a problem. Five years isn't a huge age gap, as long as you both feel the same way and are looking for the same things then there is no reason why age should get in the way of a happy relationship between you.

Well, not "should" but "could". Of course, you can date a MAN older than you. You are 18 years old and you are a lady. Just make sure he's totally single okay? He must not be married, or he must no have a girlfriend.
Have fun!

He seems a little old; 5 years is a lot of age difference at 18.
Go out; see how it goes.

Why not? I'm dating a guy that is about to be 24 and I'm 19. As long as you're on a similar maturity level, it's not that big of a difference. You might want to discuss the age difference with him. I did with my boyfriend and he didn't think it was a problem.

if you like him yes. 23 is better than 18, sometimes boys maturity level at 18 -21 tend to be childish.
but it doesn't hurt to go with older as long as you like him.

Well, this isn't to bad. Once you get older, it is ok for someone to be of different age a little bit more than usual, Make sure what he is all about. You don't want to date a guy that is all about sex. Get to know him first, see what he is all about. Hope this helps.
Wee Man.

That's not that big of an age difference. You're 18, so you're not jail bait for him. My husband is 6 years older than I am. It's no big deal.
