I am trying to record a TV show...

But the letter "L" shows up on the VCR (not TV)

I press TV/VCR and the TV screen goes black

Does anybody know what the letter "L" means on the VCR?

and if so... do you know what I can do to get rid of it?

THANKS!

Could the "L" stand for line in? Do you have a video source button on your VCR remote? If so, try pressing that button. If not, use the channel up/down button on your VCR remote.

it sounds like the L stands for the length of play used on the tape. for example when you tape something you usually have 2-3 options. Long play, extra long play, and superlong play. the longer the play the more programs you can tape on the cassette.
