Despite all the negative reports, the City of New Orleans has plenty to offer the visitor. Fabulous restaurants and plenty of hotels are operational; the tourist areas of the French Quarter and Garden District are in fine shape. There are plenty of museums to see, river cruises, shopping, great food and music, and plenty for families to do and see, such as the Aquarium of the Americas, Audubon Zoo, Mardi Gras World, World War 2 Museum, the French Market, the streetcar, Children's Museum, city tours and walking tours of the cemeteries, Garden District, and ghost tours. New Orleanians are very friendly and helpful and love to show visitors around our unique city. The ambience in New Orleans is something that you will not find anywhere else in the world. There is so much interesting history and architecture; New Orleans definitely has something for everyone. New Orleans is one of only 2 unique American cities. The people of New Orleans know how to have a good time and enjoy life in spite of problems.
Come visit and you will learn why New Orleans is special.

The touristy Bourbon Street area, located in the fairly restored Central Business District (CBD) of New Orleans is up and running to pre-Katrina levels now. Visits to City Park still show successful progress with post-Katrina rebuild efforts being made, but still in the works.
Many of the area Plantation tours and exhibits also are back to welcome tourists as well. And yes, there are tours of the nearby Katrina smashed residential areas as well, for anyone who can stomach them.

The food, the people, the soul, the culture, all are amazing! There is so much to do and see and experience! There are jobs a plenty because only half of the people who left have returned, and the real estate market is in the buyers favor considerably.....again the people...these are the most "blunt honest" ,"true blue" warm hearted people I have ever met in my entire life.
