Nope. It isn't even appropriate in religion.

Faith in relationships and marriages allows you to move forward and experience joy. Without faith, you're in a continuous cycle of paranoia and insecurity. Of course, "blind" faith is dangerous, as it is anywhere. Any belief structure undergoes some testing and evaluation before an individual is willing to invest emotional wellbeing into it.
In some ways, faith in religion is the same way, being a "relationship" with a higher power.
I'm no fan of "organized" religion, but have no trouble admitting my own fallibility and ignorance, so I don't care what other people believe, as long as it doesn't lead to dangerous behavior, (like most organized religion does at sometime in it's life).

Everyone has faith in something. There is no proof that you won't be hit by car tomorrow when you leave your house, but you'll still leave. That said, most religious people have faith, but it is not belief without evidence. There is, indeed, blind faith, but lots of religious people believe in what they do based on the evidence they find in their life. Whether or not they are interpreting that evidence correctly you can argue against, but the same holds true for anything you believe based on evidence. What is right? What is wrong? What is love? What is hatred? Which political party is right? Much of this people hold opinions on based on evidence AND faith. You can really apply faith to just about anything, just as you can apply interpretation of evidence to just about anything.

I think so. Many people accept thoughts on faith that it is correct merely by the word of someone they respect. Not all science has been proved yet in faith it is accept in some thoughts to be correct. A good example of this is C14. When it began it was hailed to be the answer. Yet when shown it was not always accurate they accommodated this by adjustment and adding new mechanics. The faith remained as the testing evolved to correct the errors

Yes it is, anywhere that faith exists it is without evidence, faith in a friend, faith in a loved one...even faith in ourselves. When we have proof of something then its no longer faith. Faith in another person can be very strong and losing that faith can be very damaging.

If you hold, as you seem to, that faith is belief without evidence then where would it ever be useful? I am not sure.
However, that is certainly not the definition that Christians use, so that leaves your question unanswered.
Try updating your definition.

Yes. But sadly no one here mentioned it. FAITH IN ONES OWN SELF. With out that having faith outside ones self is not worth the thinking effort. Why? Because FAITH in ones self is the root of our sucessful interaction with the people and world around us. That we can do a thing, no manner how small or how large, is based upon our Faith in ourselves.

You take many things on faith. The weather forecast, photos, TV news, anything you have personally not built or done is taken on faith. Have you been to outer space? Yet we accept pictures of the earth on faith.
Friends and family promise to do something. You take it on faith they will accomplish the task or not. It is based onprevious experience whether we have positive faith in something.

Yes!!!
Farmers have faith that as long as they take care of their Fields they will get a good harvest.
People who sell winter toys like snowmobiles and snow blowers etc have faith that it will snow.
Everything you do is done on faith, you may call it something else but it all boils down to faith.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. said, "Faith is taking the first step without seeing the whole staircase." With that definition, the answer to your question is yes.
Most importantly we have to have this kind of faith in ourselves, when faced with challenges and endeavors.

I see where you're coming from, but when you step on a plane do you need evidence that the pilot is fit and able, the ground-crew have serviced it properly etc?
We all exercise a bit of faith every day; even if it's just that other drivers are going to keep to their side of the road.
