I am planning a 2 weeks holiday in Nov/Dec, flying in to Sydney and driving to Brisbane. Which is the best route to take that will be peppered with attractions to break up the long trip. Should I take an alternate route back to catch more sights?
Thanks in advance for your help. :)

There are three main routes from Sydney to Brisbane and each has numerous attractions. The main road is the Pacific Highway which goes through or round all the coastal communities and coastal national parks. If you like beaches, rivers, waterways, fishing etc, that is the road for you.

The second is the New England Highway which runs along the top and western side of the Dividing Range through Armidale, Tamworth and down the Hunter Valley. This is a little longer than the Pacific Highway.

The third turns off the Pacific Highway along Buckett's way south of Karuah and heads north through Gloucester, Nowendoc and Walcha to Uralla on the New England Highway. This is a very pretty road. Instead of continuing along the New England, turn right at Tenterfield and drive to Tabulam. Turn left and drive through Bonalbo, Woodenbong and Beaudesert to Brisbane. This is quicker than the New England and parts of the trip are spectacularly beautiful through the Border Ranges National Park and the Mt Lindsay Highway.

Take your time and choose different routes for there and back.
