I'm playing in a golf tournament tomorrow and based on the conversations I've had so far I have a feeling that the four-some I'm playing in plans on drinking quite a few beers and I can already hear the peer pressure. I will be driving a company vehicle which is even another reason not to drink at all.

"Water is the only thing that keeps me hydrated (and sober) when I'm in the sun"..........then pack a few bottles of water.

You can also tell them (with a little smile on your face) that you ALWAYS win when you're sober, but not to worry you'll leave some of the gag gifts for them later:)

Be honest. The ones who want the beer are being honest and saying what they want to do and no one is stressing over that (or are you?).
No one can tell you that you're wrong- you are driving and that is the law.
Have a small cooler with the drinks you like in it- like water, lemonade etc.
No thank you.
I'm driving. I'm not much of a beer drinker. I'm on an antibiotic or medication. It doesn't agree with me in the sun- if they press, but they shouldn't.
Not everyone likes sushi either and you certainly can't make someone who hates it eat it.
I hope they don't get too obnoxious for you.
Good luck!

A good excuse.... you get head aches when you drink beer during the day! ( i do)
Or ... its hard enough to play golf, drinking beer isn't going to make it easier!

or plan and simple...
I HAVE TO DRIVE!

good luck! have fun!

Simply remind them that the group needs a designated driver and that is your duty, so you will just be drinking the virgin stuff. If they keep pressuring you, tell them that if they want to get home safely then leave you alone about the drinking.

Just tell them that your driving and you don't care to drink. If they give you a hard time about it just tell them straight out that you don't drink. Don't worry about it most people aren't going to pressure you to drink.

The most polite way is to say "No thank you". No explanation is necessary. If people are RUDE enough to pressure you, simply continue to say "No thank you". Eventually they will get the hint.

If you're looking for an "excuse", you can always say "I can't, it interferes with my medication". That will ususally shut people up.

Saying you are allergic. It is kind of a common thing. My husband is allergic to beer and some wines. We think it has to do with the level of sulfites.

Say, 'I'm driving'. Their opinion doesn't matter if they think you're square because you drink less when driving.
